This morning when Dad was driving towards his Sunday hike in the Jura mountains he just couldn't avoid stopping just after Neuveville on the northern shores of Lake Biel just east of lake Neuchâtel. The wind was up, it was blowing a good 30 knots and sailors from all over western Switzerland had come for this unusual day of strong warm winds and sunshine. There were masses of kite surfers, one or two of the good old wind surfers and to his surprise a new thing, a couple of wing foilers, new to him. So he pulled out his Olympus em 1X and the 300 mm f4 lens giving the same angle of view as a full frame 600 mm lens. Below are three different generations of board sailors on a port tack. And off in the air we go, difficult to shoot with the sun in your face.
And even one of the wing foiling acrobats managed to jump and land elegantly on the choppy water surface in the crowd.
And for those without boards and wings in wet suits, there was always a cold swim available. Stay tuned for more!!
