The Vullierens caste a little northwest of Lausanne features one of the flower wonders in Europe, created in the 1950-s by the American wife of the owner of this historic property that is owned by the same family since over 700 years. If you ever come to this part of Switzerland during the summer months, we strongly recommend you visit this place, not only for its iris garden but also for its contemporary sculpture garden and educational hiking paths stretching from east to west over the some 100 ha of accessible land. To learn more, go to www.chateauvullierens.com. We came here because I was doing my daily driving training with Dad who had not forgotten his Fuji GFX camera with its 120 mm f4 macro lens. I think you agree the variety of irises is outstanding and in the early morning light before the crowds had arrived there was nothing to disturb us strolling around enjoying the vast flower beds.
We wish you a pleasant week-end wherever your are! Stay tuned for the multihull festival coming soon!!
