Currently in Singapore where I landed last night. It was a smooth flight and I felt fine the whole way. After landing however I couldn’t stop sneezing and blowing my nose. I felt so congested, and had such a hard time sleeping.
Waking up this afternoon I had a sore throat, congested nose and extremely itchy ears! If you don’t know, itchy ears are signs of an infection creeping, yikes!
I got out of bed and went down to the pharmacy in the attached mall to the hotel I’m staying in. I got some medication for congestion and some weird Asian oil to relieve headaches and congestion as well.
Also another fact for you is don’t ever fly when you have a cold. I did that twice and twice it ended badly.
However I don’t wanna call sick today because I wanna go home. I don’t like to be sick in another country, although I’m glad I’m in Singapore and not China or some other country where they barely speak English.
I wanna go home! I don’t know if I should take the chance and fly home, or stay another day and see how it turns out. For me it feels strange to call sick for just having a cold, because everyone works with their cold if you have a normal office job. Since my job is 40.000 ft up in the air it brings a whole new set of challenges, and sometimes you have to call sick for just having a silly common cold.
Looks like I might stay in Singapore another night and hope my sore throat and congestion approves. I don’t wanna be stuck here for a week!
Anybody has any natural remedies in their back pocket? I got a fresh vitamin C juice boost from a juice bar in the mall, but if you have any other tips please let me know!
