1. Santosa Island
There is something really special about this island. This island is the host to a pretty small Universal Studios, cable cars, bars, beaches etc. you can easily spend a full day here and it's a must if you're ever in Singapore.
I took a taxi up to the start of the cable car line on the mainland, and then I took the cable car over the treetops and the water to reach Santosa Island. It was one of the most beautiful cable car rides of my life! To be honest I felt like it could be a scene from Jurassic park, being in this tropical place riding above the densely packed treetops. Magical!
When you reach Santosa you can either get on a different cable car ride along the island, however I decided to walk instead for the ultimate experience.
On my walk so came across a man with two huge snakes in braided baskets. I had never before held a snake and I was feeling brave so I decided to give it a go. It was very cool and not scary at all. I was surprised through how strong a snake can be! It was really hugging me as I was holding it around my neck, haha. I also took photos with tropical birds along my walk. There are many cool places to have a drink or eat lunch. Just pick and choose! The day I was there a running race seemed to be going on, so there was restricted access to a lot of places including the beaches.
Universal studios is there as well if You want to do something more thrilling. I haven't been to this universal but how could it not be worth it?!? Universal is always a good idea! There is also many adventurous things to do including ZipLining which I'm dying to do! Maybe next time?
There is a huge Merlion that you can't miss. It's absolutely beautiful to look at, and it's very close to the cable car ride. Santosa is just a place for everyone and a must see in Singapore.
