It’s 00:01 AM and here I am again, all alone with my uncontrollable mind. My mind quite often thinks it’s better for sifne not to sleep and instead make sifne think about stuff that happened 10 years ago, over analyzing certain situations and worrying about what will “happen” next and also the things I want to happen not happening.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like the world consist of small battlefields. My school, my work, my social life, my family, my economy, my health etc. are all battlefields. you have to fight in these battlefields or you’ll automatically loose the battle.

I get exhausted from all this “battling”. I can’t help but feel like I’m always two steps behind in everything i do. Am I fighting enough in each battlefield? Am I about to loose something or someone?

To be continued...

Worth the hype: will be a continuing series of blogposts where I’ll talk about different products and let you guys know what I think about them. If they’re worth their prices or if it’s a total waste of money.

The first post in this series will be on “The Ordinary” products.

About the company
The Ordinary is a brand owned by a company called “Deciem”. Deciem owns around 11 brands and claims to be a brand focused on advanced functional beauty. All brands under Deciem does not test their products on animals and is all free of: Parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, methylchloroisothiazolione, methylisothiazilione, animal oils, benzalkonium chloride, coal tar dyes, formaldehyde, Mercury and oxybenzone. The Ordinary itself is focused on bringing more effective and concentrated products to the skincare market at a low price.

What I own

I’ve always been very sceptic about using too many products on my skin due to the fact that I deal with both asthma and a ton of different allergies. For many years I didn’t use anything on my skin because no matter what it just reacted by becoming itchy and very red and sore. When I heard about The Ordinary i got really excited because finally I could buy products where I would just get the beneficial ingredients and nothing else. I therefor went straight on the website and bought 4 different things. I won’t go in detail with all the facts about the ingredients and about all the chemistry as I don’t know enough about this. I’ll just tell you about what it claims to do and what I think it did for me and my skin and if I would repurchase it.

Advanced Retinoid 2%

Claims to: deliver visible results against signs of ageing

Sifnes opinion:
This product is very thick in its consistency. When applying it to my skin it feels very thick and cooling. After a few minutes my skin feels really tight, as if I’m wearing a mask. I don’t find that this “wearing a mask” feeling goes away and therefor I really don’t wear this product with comfort. I don’t see much results on my skin, my tiny wrinkles still look the same with or without using this cream daily for quite some time. Also this product makes your skin very sensitive to the sun and I find that my skin gets really itchy and annoyed from using this. Not worth the money!

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Claims to: reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and balance visible sebum activity

Sifnes opinion:
I mix this into my night and day cream when my skin breaks out. It helps reducing and mattifying my blemishes and I feel like it helps stopping the break out. I rarely experience more breakouts after starting mixing this into my creams. Sadly I also get the “wearing a mask” feeling from applying this product, almost like it’s too drying for my skin. I like this product but I would not repurchase.

Salicylic Acid 2%

Claims to: exfoliate the inside walls of pores to fight appearance of blemishes

Sifnes opinion:
I only apply this directly onto blemishes as I find applying it all over my skin makes it irritated. This products does its job and makes blemishes go away really quickly. I would definitely repurchase this.

Hyaluronic 2% + B5

Claims to: offer multi-depth hydration

Sifne opinion:
As weird as it sounds this product feels nothing like a hydrating product. It dries out my skin and I feel like it doesn’t allow my skin to breathe. It does help hydrating my skin but only because it dries it out so much that I have to moisturize the hell out of my skin after using this to not get dry patches of skin on my face. I don’t hate this product, I just don’t necessarily like its existence. It’s a big no-no from Sifne!

I hope this was somewhat useful and that you enjoyed reading it
