If you are one out of the many millions that are suffering from acne, you would want to read along here. I will try to simplify what creates acne and of course how you can cure it yourself.
Being an esthetician I can't stop analysing people's skin, my eyes is like a scanner, scanning the different zones of the face.. I can't help it.. (smiling)... but my "skin scanning" gives me clues to what could cause certain skin diseases, as acne. My colleague asked me the first week we worked together why she got pimples on her lower cheeks. I asked her if she smoked, she said yes but only for a couple of months. I told her to stop smoking and the pimples would get better. She stopped and the pimples got better. The location of where the pimples where placed, told me that her lungs were suffering. Ever heard about Chinese Face Mapping? Chinese Face Mapping is what I call "Skin Scanning" and is based on the believe that different parts/zones of the face is linked to a corresponding internal organ that can tell you a lot about your over all health. I try to practise this philosphy when I meet my clients, bearing in mind that also external factors can affect different skin diseases and conditions, which sometimes makes it very complexed. However, I would like to make you understand what acne really is and why it appears.
Acne consist of oil (sebum), bacteria/toxin (from external or internal) and dead skin cells and can have many different root causes. Some get it because of genetics, others because of constipation or digestive issues and even hormonal imbalance, infact any form of imbalances in our body can trigger acne and other skin diseases. The fact that your skin is breaking out is simply a sign or a clue that something deeper is going on inside of your body, and the good thing is that it is cureable. This is why I always say that I will never be able to help someone who is not willing to look into the root cause and stop expecting me to "cure" the problem by using skin care products or reffering you to a doctor who can prescribe you antibiotica (which is not good!). It doens't work like that, and anyone who have told you otherwise needs to be deeply inlighted. No matter how expensive your skin products may be, they will not fully cure your acne as long as you have an untreated imbalance in your body. YOU are the one to do the biggest effort to make the change on your skin, and I am here to inlighten you and make sure that your skin is healing correctly without your skin getting scarred. The skin needs to be treated from the inside and out and not the other way around, everything you do from the outside is pure maintaining and proactive work, which is also important! However, when you are having acne it is important to look at what you eat and how good your digestive system works and also if you do enough exercise in order to pump your lymphatic system free from toxins.
Food that is highly acidic, high in saturated fats, processed grains, meat fats and refined sugar all weakens and inflamate your gut. The weakness of the gut, leaves a lot of undigested food, which will turn into a sticky, cloudy, smelly substance that becomes food for panthogens (bad bacteria) and their toxic waste can spread through the gastrointestinal tract and gut wall and into our blood stream and cause inflammation on our skin, aka acne, eczema, psoriasis etc etc. Improper digestion is in fact responsible for 90% of all diseases, believe it or not! The toxic waste from the panthogens can also clog up the lymphatic system, as all the toxic waste in the blood is filtered through our lymphatics. Deep breathing and exercising is important as this is the only way to help "pump' the lymphatic system and avoid building up toxins that will cause acne or other skin diseases. Now, the panthogens lives in colonies and keep on reproducing and fermenting as long as your digestive system is not functional which means that the probiotics (good bacteria) becomes a minority and can't fight back the panthogens. Antibiotica is clearing the skin while you are taking the medicine, when you are done with the medicine, your acne will come back, maybe even worse. Why? Because antibiotica kills all the probiotics (good bacteria) in your gut and as you have not treated the root problem, all that has happend is that your gut is now without any probiotics to fight back all the panthogens (bad bacteria) and your skin goes nuts! Talk about an evil circle huh! Water, fish, fiber, antioxidants, cooked vegetable, fruits and plant based probiotic supplement has been shown in many studies to decrease all kinds of acne and is so much healthier for you.
Hormonal acne occurs when we produce too many androgen hormones (male hormones found in both men and women) that triggers an overproduction of oil (sebum) which clogs the pores and create inflammation. Androgens are produced by the testes, ovaries and the adrenal glands and can be controlled by a healhty diet and omega-3’s which have been found to lower testosterone and androgene levels. By taking EPA and DHA omega -3 supplementation and eating more omega 3’s in the diet, one can help the body to balance testosterone levels and eliminate acne breakouts.
To fight acne from the inside and out - Decrease saturated fat consumption, increase fiber consumption, decrease dairy consumption, increase alkaline foods and decrease acidic foods, and do exercise!!
Skin products you can use at home as a great supplement to your inner cleansing and diet - castille soap for cleansing (I like Dr. Bronner's,) homemade coffee scrub (find it here ) and organic coconut oil (no, it does not clog your pores, it is a MYTH)! Very simple, yes, but you honestly do not need more if you are treating your skin from the inside and out and not the other way around. I recommend a deep pore/pimple cleansing at your esthetician once or twice a month to avoid scarring and to get an updated status on your skin's improvement and condition.
