There are days when we're just not in the mood to face the world. Nothing seems to go right at the moment, and it kind of feels like the universe is against us. It´s ok, we´re just having a bad day. And bad days are inevitable. So how can we handle them? Keep reading to discover three simple tips that help me get through one of those days.
Don´t be hard on yourself. We can be our own worst enemy. Bad days in particular, tend to affect our mood. And at the end of the day we are all human. Contrary to what we see on Instagram, it's perfectly normal to not feel happy all the time. Acceptance is key, and we need to be honest with ourselves. Think about it: Why are you feeling the way that you do right now, and is there anything you can do to change it?
Start small. If a current project or task feels a bit too big at the moment, start small. Avoid procrastination by breaking it down into small steps. Do something that helps you start moving forward. Reduce the daily distractions. Have a break, play some music, and let it inspire you. Get some fresh air. Move, and build momentum. We need to consciously choose to get started, and let our motivation catch up with us. And if we don´t finish all our tasks today, remember that there´s always tomorrow.
Get out of your negative space, and draw inspiration from others. Naturally, bad days can put is in a negative state of mind. What's important then, is to realise that it's up to us to get out of our negative space. Watch a TED talk, grab a book, or catch up a friend over coffee. Sometimes, all we need is to feel connected.
