Abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium of Agramonte

Abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium of Agramonte

We have been doing some urban explorations up here in the Spanish mountains.

This old sanatorium near San Martín de la Virgen is in the middle of a nature reserve by the mountain Moncayo. Before serving as a sanatorium it was actually built as a hotel for the wealthy and rich people to enjoy the nature in the area. We could see why, driving there in the sunset was really beautiful!

Most of the buildings was destroyed by nature and by people who have been visiting before us. There weren't anything left of the furniture or the interior, only a few beautiful floors that were still intact.

The buildings were converted into a sanatorium specially for poor women and children by "the Sisters of Charity of St Ana". Ever since it closed in 1978 it have been left abandoned.

Nowadays the only visitors is people seeking for mysteries and the paranormal, this place is said to be haunted.

Last year we visited another similar place in Germany, The elisabeth-sanatorium.
