Ever since I became a mother I've been pretty much living on snacks and protein bars. It's not even the fact that it's hard to find time to make lunch or dinner. Some days it sure is but most days it's just that the little amount of time you get to yourself when your baby is sleeping you don't want to spend on cooking (if you're like me haha) so I always fill my kitchen drawers with healthy snacks that's easy to eat every now and then throughout the day.
I recently counted that I on average have 2,5 protein bars a day hehe. It's really a life saver when you have a busy lifestyle that doesn't allow you to cook that much every day. And it's not just protein bars! But all type of healthy snacks and nutrition supplements such as protein drinks, vitamin drinks, shakes etc. The bars I'm eating right now are from Sportkost and you find them and lots of other supplements here.
Last week I visited my midwife and now in a couple of weeks I'll be officially ready to start working out again. I obviously need to take baby steps and not jump right into it but I'm so excited to start exploring different sorts of workouts and be able to step by step gain some muscles and get strong again after pregnancy. It literally feels like all my muscles have disappeared in 9 months haha.
And when I do start working out again it's more important than ever to make sure that I have time to get enough of nutrition and good supplements to get a balanced and good diet with. Also especially for people with an eating disorder or eating disorder background it's important to remember that working out is because you ENJOY it not because you want to change your body or fall back into old habits. And I myself know that it's hard to workout without starting to skip meals and do it because you burn calories or whatever bad reason there can be when you have an eating disorder. But if you do it right working out can also be very therapeutic and helpful and help you find balance and self-love. And that's exactly what I'm aiming for this time around when I'm soon allowed to start working out a bit.
