I hope that the summer of 2018 has been nothing but kind to each and every one of you. I’m happy to say that it’s been a pretty great one for me, and it’s not even over yet. So every Thursday night, I run with an amazing group of runners known as the Elkins Park Beer Runners. We meet at a different location each week where we run at our own miles and paces, and then meet back for beer. (I’m not a drinker, but I love the positive atmosphere and energy of the group.) Last night, we met at a local co-op, because a beer company was there with different beers to try out. Before we started running, I noticed absolutely stunning sunflowers, and a lot of them! Naturally, I started snapping as many photos as I could before we took our group photo and began our run. When we got back, I noticed there was an entire pathway lined with sunflowers of all sizes. Big and small, young and older, each sunflower was absolutely beautiful. I’d be surprised if I didn’t snap a picture of each sunflower that was within reach and not too high up there. I even managed to get a “selfie” with one underneath the just-beginning sunset. That, and a friend in our group pointed out at one point that a bee had landed on a sunflower to perform its’ duties. Seeing the sunflowers made me so happy, and something about them always brings a smile to my face. Perhaps it’s their sunny name? Perhaps it’s their color and brightness? Perhaps it’s the positive energy they give off? Who knows? I’m just happy that they’re in this world. Check out their beauty! 🌻
And another gorgeous flower I saw in a different, nearby location.
