There is a national holiday this weekend, so I get a 3-days weekend. Charlotte and Matthew want´s to do something to celebrate. I´ve never heard about "Waitangi Day". It´s a holiday i New Zealand every year. The day is named after Waitangi where the Treaty of Witangi was first signed. People celebrate the holiday with ceremonies and parties. Many people celebrate the day at the beach. It´s a day when politicans have speeches. The politicans use the day to have more people to their political party. We went to the city and the big market place for listen on politicans that Matthew and Charlotte like. After that we went to the beach. We eated ice cream, listened to music, played beach volleyboll and bathed.

I really like my host family, I have friends and I really like my cyclingclub. But still, I miss my family and my friends. I miss to hang out with friends and see my mum in the kitchen when I come home from school. Three months is a long time. I can talk to mum and dad every day, and that feels good, but just after I hang up, I´m sad again. Matthew understands that I´m a bit sad and miss my family, so he have bought a pet. Charlotte and Matthew have talked about to buy a dog and yesterday was the day.

It´s been 2 month now and I have come in a good mood. I feel that I´m just like everyone else. I´m so much better at english now and I have started to like strange food. Much food here comes from the sea, as usuall in a country who is an island. I have eaten octopus for my first time and I like it. I´ve eaten very good meat from lamb , but you can find it in Sweden too. I have my own routines also. I wake up 1 hour before school start and I go the bathroom and take a wash. Then I go downstairs to the kitchen. Charlotte has make breakfast for me and Matthew every morning. It´s often bacon, eggs and mushroom. I lay everything on a toast and there I have a wonderful breakfast. To this I drink a glas of juice. I always look at a morningprogram on TV when I eat my breakfast. It´s like a program in Sweden called "Nyhetsmorgon". It´s a program with news, food and guest who can be like sportsmen or politicans. After that I goes up again, take on the clothes I going to have at school. Then I brush my teeth and make my hair so it lookes nice. After that I take my bag and goes to school. I often comes there when it´s 5 minutes until we start.

When I comes home I sit in the couch and look at TV. I often look at channels with much sport. I´m always tired and hungry when I comes home, so i usually take a fruit. At the evening I do my homework, helps Charlotte and Matthew with the dinner and look at my computer. The different between my routines here and home is that I goes to school, but it´s all over the same.

When I went to school today, I got a small injury. I was in hurry so I had to run to school, but I fell. A little bit of the skin on my hand came of and it bleeded a bit, but it went well.

This week has been a very strange and scary week. The school has been closed the hole week because of a natural disaster. It´s been very strong wind. A turnado has come to New Zealand. When the school has been closed have I and Charlotte seen the news most of the day. They reccomend everyone to be inside. Houses has been destroyded, cars has been moved and threes has fallen down. 20 people in Wellington has been killed by fallen threes and big things who has flow on they. Charlotte is a bit scared, but Matthew says thatt it goes over soon. My family in Sweden has hearded about this and they called me. They was really worried, but when they saw that it was okay with me, they calmed down. They asked who it was in the new school, if had any friends and if I liked my hostfamily. I said that everything is fine, but I miss them now, I´ve been here for 3 weeks and it´s many weeks left.

As I have written before, I like cycling. Matthew has found a young group in a cyclingclub here in the town. Matthew said it was a good group for me. Charlotte think it´s a very good idea and my first training is tomorrow after school.

I´ve been here for two weeks now and I´m have used me to this new country and new routines. I talk to Charlotte and Matthew like I talk to other people home and we have some discussions. Me and Matthew have talked a lot about sports. He like soccer and I like cycling. I had an argument with him. He thinks soccer is a tougher sport than cycling, but I don´t think so. I mean they just play in 90 minutes with one paus and they are twelve persons in the team so they can just rely on the other players in their team. We didn´t figured it out.

I´ve got a new favourite shop called Superette. They have all clothes that I like. They have nice jeans and T-shirts. I´ve went there many times and I have talked alot to a man called John who works in the store. He comes from Norway actually so I can talk to him in swedisch, but I can´t understand norwegian very well, but I has gone well.

I like living here. I have a good hostfamily, friends and I like the nature. It has gone well in school and I do my homework. For three days ago, Charlotte and Matthew took me to a tourist spot. They took me to a waterpark where we went with small boats in rivers with extreme currents. I´ve been so wet, but It was really fun! After that we went to a BBQ restaurant. They had really good meat so we said we should go there another day. It was a long way home, I sat in a car for 4 hours, but it felt like 1 hour. The nature was so fantastic. The road was in middle of a valley, so we had mountains on both sides. There was big threes and blue scy. You can´t have any view like that in Sweden. It´s something I never gonna forget.

I´ve been here for a week and it´s now I realice that this is going to be hard. The people and culture is so different. I have it little hard in school, when it´s just english, but I have some friends. It´s so stainge sports here. They playing cricket, rugby and netball. They also drive on the left side, that feels very strainge. The weather has been quite nice, me, Charlotte and Matthew have been on the beach three days already. They have a bit different music, but I like it. I think it´s hard to come to a different country with different culture, but I have to adjust me to this country.

The school is quite big. It´s a brown house with many windows and black roof. The teacher is good and they help me with thing that I have difficult for. I like school, it isn´t too big, but still it´s new faces every day. I have to pay the food for myself, but Charlotte do a lunch box for me every morning, it´s usually some sandwiches, a juice and crisps.

So, I have some friends in school, mostly boys. But it feels like many people is intrested of me because I come from a different country. It´s one girl who made a strong impression for me. Her name is Sara, she is long with blonde hair and she is very cute. I´ve talked to her a little bit, but not so much. I miss my friends in Sweden, but I´m happy to have new good friends here.
