Last few days have been so busy with still being on standby for boss to come onboard but at least we all were able to get one day off in between. The military took us up to a volcano for a view of the island, even though you could barely see anything with all the heavy clouds but was pretty cool. Ended off taking a trip to the waterfall and that was just amazing! A perfect day off and we met up with the rest of the crew for beers at a bar which was super nice after being isolated from people for so long. But now we’re finally on our way to South Africa and a quick stop in Cape Town before continuing the trip further. All of foods etc didn’t make it on the last shipment, so now we have a whole bunch of provisions that has to be done before next take off. Either way I’m super excited and I’ve been looking forward to this crossing. And actually be sailing across the equator, that’s an experience itself that’s for sure ☺️
I’ve missed being busy on boss trips, it’s always so exciting and everyday is so different. We took a 14 hour trip to an island nearby. Captain asked me to come with to the beach to serve and stand by for the guests when needed, unfortunately I couldn’t bring my phone and actually take a photo of the super white beach where we were hanging out. This boat is the complete opposite from my last one and I really enjoy it. With boss onboard I work 5am to 8 pm which means I get to rotate a lot between housekeeping and service and I love it. Finally feel like I’m getting into this boat and I learn something new literally everyday, finally I work with people who I can actually learn from ☺️ should be back by the hotel by Monday or Tuesday, considering how tired I am writing this I’m super excited to go back but at the same time I really don’t mind this trip at all ☺️☺️
Been having a small dispute with one of my cabin mates, she just really doesn’t know how to act while others are asleep on break nor during nighttime. She’s been waking me up literally every nap or night sleep that I have. Chief stew thought this note would maybe help (whole with my other coworkers had some fun with it 😅), but trust me it so didn’t help at all. Doesn’t stop her from turning all the lights on in the cabin at midnight while I’m about to go up in 4 hours and leave it on when passing out. It’s not always easy living with other people 😅😅
For almost two weeks now we’ve been on stand by for the next trip but keep being cancelled on 😅 can’t say it’s super amusing to set up the whole boat just to take it all down again everyday but hey, two more weeks (ish) before we leave Africa and won’t be on standby like this anymore. Got a half day off yesterday and it was super nice, played tennis and had a couple of beers too many lol. And chief stew let me go for provisions today which was amazing, the country’s lockdown ended today and was such an amazing experience to see the locals and see Africa in a whole new kind of way. Didn’t really take any pictures as we didn’t see the “beautiful parts” and didn’t feel like it was appropriate to photograph people on the street 😅 but was super fun and I’m so happy I got to see it before we leave!
