Yesterday was a special day in Sweden, my friend Lipsen's birthday (ofc I don't forget you) and even more important for this specific post: Kanelbullens dag (Cinnamon Rolls day). So me and Lorenz tried to bake Kanelbullar. Already in the supermarket we encountered issues: there is no fresh yeast in America so we had to buy dry yeast, which forced us to use another recipe than we had planned for the beginning. Dry yeast works differently than fresh yeast.
I used a lot of butter in the dough because I know that butter is the key for it to taste amazing. But this made the dough super fluid so I could not shape it to rolls... I tried to put more flour but this made the final result taste more like dry scones with cinnamon then tasty fresh rolls.
Well, I'm gonna blame it all on America and the dry yeast. Better luck next time!
