I can't believe I finally have my hands on this sold out product! In case you've somehow missed the craze around the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wand in Pinkgasm, it's been sold out for the last couple of months due to the high demand. I think it really took off after Madison Beer used it in a Vogue video where she described it as her favourite blush ever, so of course this only strengthened the hype.
I had tried to pruchase this once before on Cult Beauty but I'm not sure if there was a glitch but my order got cancelled and refunded, but I was able to find it in stock on the Charlotte Tilbury website (as far I as can tell it's still available there so if you've had your eye on it) not long after.
I was very excited to finally own it as I've really been enjoying Charlotte Tilbury complexion products recently, so I guessed this would be no exception! I'm not sure if you can tell in the image above but the printing on the product component is a bit skewed to one side, I assume this is due to there being a high demand for this product. I don't really mind this too much but I will say it made it feel slightly less luxurious but the main issue I had with it was that it was hard to photograph so please excuse the lesser quality images this week!
Pinkgasm is a warm pink with a silvery, pink and gold sheen. In the swatch above you can see it almost looks like a metallic rose gold straight from the applicator but once it's blended out it sheers out nicely and the shimmer particles are far more subtle, giving more of a sheen than a full on metallic finish.
I think this shade would work well as a blush on fair to medium skin tones but may still work nicely as a highlighter if you have a deep skin tone. On my skin, this shade reminds me of almost a blushed-sunburn look which I find to be really flattering.
I applied this using the sponge tip applicator directly onto my cheeks before tapping it out with my fingertips and also using a makeup sponge to diffuse out the edges to ensure everything was blended out seamlessly. These images are always so awkward but I feel like it gives a realistic view on how the product sits on the skin!
When applying it on the skin I didn't find that it dried down too fast, I feel like you have a good amount of time to blend it out. Once it's blended it does sheer out a lot but the coverage is buildable so you're able to control how much colour you want on your cheeks.
I found it lasted well on the skin and as with basically all blushes I've tired, it did fade a bit in saturation throughout the day but still stayed on my face all day. It didn't at all feel matte or drying on the cheeks and instead felt somewhat dewy (similar to other products I've tried from the brand) but I didn't notice any transfer.
So my final consensus is that this product is amazing! I absolutely love the colour, how it sits on the skin and most importantly, I feel really confident when wearing it! I completely get the hype as the shade and formula of this product looks amazing and also feels very luxurious. Below is a picture of me wearing it, just living my best life.
If you've been wanting to try it or if this is the first time you've seen it and you're interested, I highly recommend picking it up! It retails for £29 and as I mentioned before it is currently in stock on the Charlotte Tilbury website so hurry before it sells out!
