Finally I am injecting some colour into my eyeshadow collection! Recently I have felt inspired to get out of my comfort-zone and I have wanted to be able to do more colourful eyeshadow looks. As I'm not sure how much colourful looks suit me, I picked up this high-street bargain; the Revolution Pro Trends Mischief Mattes palette. It is only £8 and offers a gorgeous shade range. I have used it once so far and was very pleased with the look I was able to create (scroll down for a picture of that look!) and have swatched all of them.
Here are some finger swatches without a base (these are 2 swatches layered on top of another).
Top row left to right: Saint, Attached, New Day, Daydream, Half Time, Believer
Top row left to right: Ringleader, Fearless, Shrine, Indication, Crusade, Poison
Top row left to right: Upperhand, Underdog, Ricochet, Exclusive, Haunted, Cursed
As you can see some colours don't look, well, all that amazing when swatched. I must say personally this doesn't worry me too much, as you can only tell so much from swatches and I don't know how well they perform on the eye. Also it's probably for the best if they're not too pigmented as I'm a complete beginner to colourful looks and I want to avoid accidentally making myself look as though I have been punched in the eye.
Using the colour Saint (to set my primer), New Day (as a transition shade) Daydream (in the crease & all along the lower lashline) Ringleader (slightly below the crease), Underdog (below the previous shade & starting from around the inner side of my iris to my outer corner on the lashline), Exclusive (on the lid) and Shrine (next to the upper lash line & also from the outer side of my iris to the outer corner along the lashline). The inner corner highlight is Urban Decay Virgin.
((Also shoutout to my friend for the idea for this look!))
I will be playing with this palette for a few weeks before I give my full review on it, but so far so good. Have a great weekend!
