Tribute to Chester Bennington

It's an unbelievable tragedy. Chester Bennington, one of my favourite singers commited suicide at age 41. His body was found at a private residence in L.A County. I feel really sorry for his wives and six children, his band and countless fans who he entertained and motivated to do better in life.

He always had problems with substance abuse, and had always fought with the desire to end it all. It looks like the desire has won. "It’s not cool to be an alcoholic — it’s not cool to go drink and be a dumbass” he said to Noisecreep in 2009. “It’s cool to be a part of recovery. This is just who I am, this is what I write about, what I do, and most of my work has been a reflection of what I’ve been going through in one way or another.”

He was very vocal about the abuse he faced as a child as well. In a 2011 interview with the Guardian, he said: “When I was young, getting beaten up and pretty much raped was no fun. No one wants that to happen to you and honestly, I don’t remember when it started ... My God, no wonder I became a drug addict. No wonder I just went completely insane for a little while.”

This is a tribute to Chester's roaring but soothing voice and his boundless talent. This is a tribute to show the world how we will miss him so much!

Let's take a second and remember him for all the gifts he left us, especially some of his best music. Below are top 10 of his best songs.

When I was young, getting beaten up and pretty much raped was no fun. No one wants that to happen to you and honestly, I don’t remember when it started ... My God, no wonder I became a drug addict. No wonder I just went completely insane for a little while.”
