The expedition has two stages:

  • field stage that has already been completed

  • laboratory stage that is expected to be finished by the end of this year

As mentioned above, this expedition is divided into two main stages: the field and the laboratory ones.

The first stage that was carried out on the field has already been finished and zoologists, botanists, and geologists have collected more than 1500 samples of soil, water, sediment, and plants.

All the collected materials have been placed in the laboratories where they will be subjected to further examination and it is expected that the final product will be a report that will have:

  • the data about the present condition of the Taimyr Peninsula ecology

  • changes happened in flora and fauna of the region

  • recommendations for industrial companies on how to contribute to environmental protection

  • future suggestions for ecological projects that should be beneficial for the area
