Time for a little update again! Life is moving so slow right now. I feel like the closer I get to being done with this internship, the slower the time passes. I am trying so hard to tell myself to enjoy my time here while I can, but every inch of my body is longing to go back home. It's been too long. I feel like every time I write here, it's just to tell you about how much I want to leave, haha. Don't get me wrong! I am super grateful for this opportunity and Rome is an amazing city and to be honest, I don't have a lot to complain about when it comes to life. But Italians are so passionate and loud and crazy and Rome reflects that perfectly. And I've been feeling so stressed lately and I just want to be somewhere where I feel like I can just breathe and think clearly. Home. On a more positive note, tomorrow is my last workday this week and then I have four days off coming up. I have so much fun stuff planned and it's going to be an amazing weekend. I promise I will try to remember to tell you about it once it's over!
I spent most of my two days off this week in bed, trying to sleep away a horrible migraine that would not go away. I can still kind of feel the aftermaths of it. Despite that, I still managed to motivate myself to get out of bed Friday afternoon and took the bus to the city, just to feel like I had not completely wasted my precious time off from work. I ended up just walking around without any real plan of where I was heading. It hit me how amazing it is to live somewhere where a normal afternoon stroll in the city can take you to places like the Colosseum. Therefore, I made a promise to myself to get out more and really soak up every impression I can of this city while I still can. After all, I barely have more than two months left. I really haven't been good at getting out and taking advantage of all the amazing things this city has to offer lately. I guess it's easy to take it all for granted too quickly. I also realized I need to dust off my camera and start making some photo rounds. Until that actually happens, here's some quick shots from my iPhone taken yesterday afternoon.
