You may or may not have seen a few months back that Kim K launched her new beauty line. The pictures that hit our screens from the launch party of Kim and her wet hair.
Fast forward a few months to New York fashion week and the wet look hits the runway. It is one of this seasons trends and my text messages from clients are full of wet look requests. You can see some behind the scenes pictures of this look below.
Now I was backstage working at New York fashion week - see the video - and I can tell you it may look like a very easy way to style your hair but it does take some work. The problem with the wet hair look is that the hair will dry at some point. You need to use products to keep it looking wet and a tone of gel is not just going to do the trick.
I have the perfect product solution that we used back stage and it worked fantastic.
Mixing products is the key to this look
Hair oil applied all over the hair then a small ball size amount of mousse mixed with gloss.
The products we used are:
Oribe Gold Lust Oil - a nourishing hair oil that conditions the hair.
Oribe Surf Comber mousse - this gives your hair a beach, separated effect mixed with Oribe Curl Gloss - the gloss hydrates the hair and gives each strand a shine coating. Mixing these products together before they are applied to the hair.
If you don’t want to invest in hair products you could try using your hair mask lots applied to dry hair all over and then look it in with a hairspray. I haven’t tried this myself but I have heard that some hairstylists have.
Happy hairstyle my lovelys.
Make sure you apply lots of product from all over your hair from roots to ends on every section.
Comb the product through to make sure every strand is covered. Then loosen with your fingers and gentle dry with a hair dryer on a slow setting.
