When we reached our last stop – Newport Beach - of our mini road trip it was dinnertime for us. We decided to eat at Rusty Pelican, a restaurant that has a wonderful view of the Newport Beach Harbor. Since we were seated outside on the patio we could enjoy the view and the sea air while watching the sunset.
The restaurant serves wild caught fish and gets fresh deliveries every day, just as it should be. I ordered the arctic char with lemon caper butter, served with homemade garlic mashed potatoes and my, oh my, the fish melted in my mouth! The char was cooked to perfection and all the flavors were well paired. For the dessert, Sanna and me shared the Rusty’s Trio; key lime pie, chocolate torte, and walnut apple cobbler. A perfect end to a perfect dinner!
