When it comes to makeup, a bold colored lipstick has the power to complete or break your look.
Makeup is meant to define your features and have fun with, and using the right lipstick color will do just that... and more!
Whether you have a hot date night coming up or just want to find a favorite color for regular wear, check out the tips and tricks below💋.
There are a variety of lipstick out in the market, so how do you decide between them all?
It’s great if you already have a personal preference, but for beauty newcomers my advice is to test away.
Before buying a lipstick don't be afraid to ask the makeup artist working at the makeup counter to help you or kindly ask for some testers you can try out at home.
I usually wear a subtle neutral gloss or a nude color for daytime and the bold satins and mattes for going out or special occasions. Bold is beautiful, just remember that upkeep is key! If you prefer something more subtle, tinted balms and lip glosses should do the trick.
How to applicate:
With lipstick, moisture is everything. Chapped lips can ruin how the lips might look with lipstick on, so prior to application I recommend making sure your lips are both exfoliated and moisturized.
Once my lips are prepped I usually opt to define my lips with liner in a similar shade to my desired lipstick. Follow the natural shape of your lips making sure to stay inside the lines. Tip: After you’ve fully applied your lipstick, carefully use your fingertip to blend the lipstick to achieve a natural finish.
Be sure to have your lipstick on hand for any midday (or night) touch-ups! ☝
Jungle of Red lipsticks
Unfortunately not all shades complement every skin tone. Red lipstick alone has such a wide variety!
Complexions vary just as much as lipstick shades, so I strongly recommend to always test red tones against your skin before you make a decision. If your skin has more of a pink undertone, I suggest trying cool-based red color while darker complexions pair well with warmer, coral hues.
You can also mix reds all the time to come up with your own custom shade.
