Hi, my name is Taylor Waller, I’m 16 years old and I go to Cascade Jr. Sr. High school in Cascade, IA. I live in a small town outside of Cascade called Bernard. On the outskirts of Bernard I live on a cattle farm. The farm is owned by my Grandma Waller. But my dad and my mom put our house on my grandma’s farm along with my Uncle Earl and his wife Janet.
Growing up as a farm girl in Iowa was and still is amazing. I’ve learned a lot of skills like driving a tractor, skid loader, and four-wheeler. When I was younger on the family farm we actually milked dairy cows, every week a guy with a huge tank would come and collect all of the milk the cows produced that week and it would go off to be sold. I enjoyed being able to help out in the dairy barn a lot. Sometimes my job was to feed the calves their own bottles of milk or play with the baby kittens. And it’s also where I started my singing career actually, but I’ll get to that later. Anyways, unfortunately the dairy barn burnt down when I was around 7 years old due to an accidental fire. It was a sad day for my grandma and all the rest of my family. My grandma ended up selling all the dairy cattle. In replace of the dairy barn she put up a big machine shed where all the tractors, planters, and other farm equipment go. I actually own my own cow called Abby; she just gave birth this last summer to her second calf, which was a girl. I’ve been around cattle my whole life and I truly enjoy it <3. I’ve always loved being a part of the farm with all our cornfields and various animals, but doing work on the farm isn’t my only hobby.
