19 things I've learned in 19 years

As you may know, I turned 19 on the first of February 2021. And if you have been following my blog for years, you’d know that every year after my birthday I write this kind of blog post I’m currently writing. I hope you find this blog post inspiring. So, here are 19 things I’ve learned in 19 years.

  • Mental illness is not a choice, but recovery is.

  • Stop giving the wrong people the right pieces of you.

  • Relapse does not erase your success.

  • Don’t chase, attract.

  • We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.

  • All things are possible with coffee and a cute outfit.

  • When you know you are great, you have no reason to hate.

  • If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal.

  • A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

  • If you don’t heal what hurt you, you will bleed on people who didn’t cut you.

  • We cannot change the past, but we can change how we feel about the past.

  • Hating your body will never get you as far as loving it will.

  • Do not let your past define your future.

  • What’s meant to be will be.

  • Loneliness can be freedom.

  • End of the chapter does not have to be the end of the story.

  • You never lose, you learn.

  • Focus on the step, not the whole staircase.

  • Only you can turn your dreams into reality.

I am only 19 years old but I have learned so much during the years of depression, for example. It has taken me years to become the confident young woman I am today. I have opened my mind more and I love to learn and find more ways to love myself and live my life to the fullest. I have so much yet still to learn and I am growing everyday.
