Wanderlust runs through my veins

Wednesday, 17 June, 2015, 7:05 PM

Hello nature lovers!

Today I went on a little adventure here in my home city, in nature to be precise. I could feel the wind in my hair and my heart bounding of excitement when I took these pictures, because every photo you take is unique, you make a moment last longer. Because everytime you look at that picture, it brings you back to the moment when you ones took it and thought "wow, I'm really making some great memories".

Model United Nations of Lübeck 2015 • MUNOL, #AccessHelsinki and demonstrations.

Tuesday, 16 June, 2015, 6:42 PM

Hey Guys!

Wow, there's a lot going on right now in my life right now.. So, I had to a deep breathe, take a step back and think about it. First of all I participated in Model United Nations of Lübeck 1-6.6. There is no words to describe how awesome and as we delegates call it munolicious it was and if a delegate is currently reading this; we had many fruitful debates! I'm from Finland so i represented Bangladesh in the Environment Comission. I have to tell you, that I've never participated in anything this official before and the working week to me went by simply with the attitude of "learning by doing". But I held some speeches and the resolution my group worked with (climate refugees) went through and you can only imagine how proud we were after that! But since I felt pretty unsure what to do before I read through the Rules of Procedure and actually participated I'm going to organize a preparations course here back home in Finland and encourage more students from my school to take part in this event, that will bring you not only new experience but also some very good memories. Besides, Germany is a very beautiful country,a country everyone should visit at some point in their lives. So in case you haven't - I higly recommend you to do it.

When back in Finland I once again started working with my book and I've been pretty productive, so I think I'll finish of by the time the first autumn leaves will fly with the wind. Then I've been working at a art exibithion and been politically active- of course. Yesterday I took part in a demostration, because Finland's new goverment's programme stated a cut of 600 million euros of the education budget. I believe that the future lies in the hands of the youth and to make it clear:

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

-Nelson Mandela

Today I took part in a interesting discussion in Helsinki about the Access Project. Basically we discussed how we can make the voice of the youth heard and integrate immigrants into the society. The topics that were dicussed made me think how I could develop my own youth council, so this deffintely happened in the right time.

Besides politicis I've started running actively, after a pause of several years... It's amazing to see the progress. This time, one year ago I could barely run 1km, now I do about 6-8km. Anyways thanks a lot for reading and hope you'll have a great summer vacation, every single one of you!

Happy Midsummer!

-Rebecka

PS. Picture taken by MUNOL.

PPS. I was voted for party animal within the Environment Comission-should I be happy or feel bad?!
