Fake eyelashes really give you that extra touch your makeup look needs, and the good thing is: All you need to apply them is some glue for eyelashes and that's it! Your eyes, (and make up) lo way better now.
However, we know putting them on can be quite tricky, especially if it is your very first time applying fake eyelashes. So, to help you out here’s a quick (but helpful guide) on how to apply them!
Grab your set of fake eyelashes, your eyelash glue, and of course a mirror and let’s start.
- Do your whole makeup.
Fake eyelashes are usually the very last step of your makeup routine, since they are only there to give you an extra touch of “wow” before you finish it off.
So, do your whole make routine as usual and make sure to leave the lashes for the very last part. Of course, remember to do your eye makeup, although we recommend applying the liner later.
- Curl your natural lashes.
Before you glue the fake ones on, it’s necessary you curl your natural lashes as you would normally do. Either by applying a coat of mascara or by curling it with a special tool.
This will ultimately make the blending between your natural lashes and the fake ones much easier, and it will result in an overall more natural looking makeup.
- Size and cut the fake lashes.
An important thing to keep in mind is that you aren’t supposed to apply the fake eyelashes just as they come in the box, you need to size them and make sure they mold to your eyes correctly.
If they are too long, grab a pair of scissors or small tweezers and cut out the lash excess, this way, the fake lashes will fit on your eyes perfectly and actually make it look more open.
- Apply eyelash glue to the fake lashes.
You can apply the glue for eyelashes two ways; One, directly from the tiny bottle where it usually comes, or two, with a tiny applicator (like a Q-tip, for example).
Apply enough to get through the very thin line of the fake lash and let it set there for about ten to twenty seconds before proceeding to glue them on, otherwise it could be more complicated.
- Glue the fake eyelash to your natural ones.
You should aligne the line of your fake eyelashes to your natural one and kindly press it against your eye (make it sure it is closed, tho) and hold it in place for a couple of seconds.
We recommend testing out if it sticks by blinkin a couple of times and get your eyes used to the weight as well. If it feels nice, there is no need to re-apply them at all.
- Blend in with more mascara.
Like we told you, applying mascara will definitely improve the whole look and make the fake eyelashes look as if they were your natural ones. Simply pick up the mascara and apply the product, brushing slightly to blend in the lashes.
- Finish off with eyeliner.
If you have any black eyeliner on hand, you can cover up any mistake previously done with the lash glue by applying the liner right above the line of your eyelashes!
However, if you aren’t planning on using eyeliner, you really don’t have to. If you followed up all the steps correctly and were careful enough, chances are you can’t tell the glue is there at all.
By now, your makeup look should be complete! Remember to take them off later, before you go to sleep, and you might be able to reuse them a second time! However, be careful to take them out properly and not hurt your eye on the process.
