My goals for September
I was really inspired by #nouwseptemberchallenge to actually challenge my self for som inner (and outer) growth this September. How I like to set goals is to do it from the end result and back, like imagining how I want to feel at or accomplish by the end of the month. By the end of September I wish to have worked on my health in terms of what I eat and excessive - to feel more at home in my body. I also wish to give my home a fall-remake, some cosy blankets, new curtains and candles. You get the jizz. I wish to go out to eat more at plant based restaurants, and a couple nights out with fun.
1. RE-DO MY HOUSE FOR FALL
I had a realisation the other day, because I for the past years has always traveled, lived in places like California where the seasons are non-existent. The only sense of Holiday I have is when I go home for Christmas every other year. And every year kind of just slopes into another, alongside the seasons. From now on I really want to make an effort to clearly mark the seasons no matter where in the world I am.
2.TRY OUT FOUR VEGAN RESTAURANTS
If it's one thing I love about London it's the diversity of amazing eateries, and the many many options of vegan and plant-based restaurants. I also love supporting small businesses, especially those who are forward thinking about our food and our planet. So, lets eat!
3. RE-CONNECT TO MYSELF THROUGH YOGA AND MEDITATION
I think that now that the weather is cooling down, it's more important to do something that re-connects you to yourself. For me, I think of meditation as therapy for your mind and soul and yoga as meditation for your soul and body. There's a studio by my house with an introductory offer, and I think now is the time to take advantage of it!
4. RE-CONNECT TO THE EARTH
I really want to learn how to compost at home. It might sound so silly but here in the UK, recycling is not that great, so what is really the point in getting bio-degradable items if they don't well bio-degrade.. So why not learn about the process myself?! I also want to swap a few household items for sustainable ones for a closer zero-waste lifestyle, and of course, get a couple houseplants.
5. FINISH MY BOOK
There is honestly nothing better than beginning the chilly mornings in bed with a warm cup of lemon tea and your favourite book. Sometimes I miss the person I was before social media, and how I would disappear in my favourite stories. And I think for September, focusing on a book you love is a perfect way to Slow down a bit.
