Films and shows

The Gentlemen (2019), instrueret af Guy Ritchie, også kendt for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)

// I kina spiser de hunde (1999) directed by Lasse Spang Olsen
Two brothers, one cold and ruthless, the other sensitive and reluctant, and their brutal misadventures. (Source: IMDB)

This is an older classic danish movie that I hadn't seen until recently, and then I watched it twice! It is one of those films that splits the waters. Half of my friends watched it and loved it and thought it was hilarious. The other haft was shocked and never recovered, hehe.
To me, what makes it a classic danish movie is the characters, the dialogue. We are dumped in the middle of these peoples lives, and they are stupid, weird and quirky (Nobody truly wants to be called quickly in 2021, do they?). They do what they have to do to get to their goals. It doesn't matter what is 'normal'. They take on the world as they are.
This is also why so many people wound't find it funny cause these characters do make choices that shouldn't be made because of common sense. But common sense has been stripped from these characters, and we are left with something interesting, childlike and scary.
You can watch it on Netflix and Viaplay.

The Gentlemen (2019), by Guy Ritchie, also known for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
An American ex-pat tries to sell off his highly profitable marijuana empire in London, triggering plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him. (Source: IMDB)

There is something so soothing and beautiful about watching a Guy Ritchie film. It so well crafted, snappy and British in its ways. To put it simply, the Gentlemen has everything I would want from an action film. A good plot, a good bundle of my favourite male actors (but I would have loved a couple more women other than fantastic Michelle Dockery), and the clothes were extraordinary! (I need a tracksuit like Colin Farrell and glasses like Hugh Grant!). And, of course, the fighting scenes - Ritchie truly knows his ways around those.
You can watch it on Filmstriben, Google play and Viaplay.

Sister Act (1992), directed by Emile Ardolino, also known for Dirty Dancing (1987)
When a nightclub singer is forced to take refuge from the mob in a convent, she ends up turning the convent choir into a soulful chorus complete with a Motown repertoire until the sudden celebrity of the choir jeopardizes her identity. (Source: IMDB)

I watched Sister Act with my family upon request of my mother, after they got Disney+, and oh boy, was it good! It had everything a feel-good movie needs, and the whole family enjoyed it! - What more could you ask for from a movie?
Whoopie Goldberg, who plays the main character, is also just so fun and wholesome - She knows what she is doing, and she is doing it well!
You can watch it on YouTube and Disney+.
