Why you don't have to do all the things

I love the spiritual community and I love how society is changing and becoming more open to new perspectives and ways of life. Though I have been noticing lately that many of us look to others for guidance on how to practice spirituality. Now, I understand that there's a lot to take in, especially when you're new, and that everyone has to find their own path and in order to do so one needs to do a lot of research to learn to discern between all the directions one can take. But it's important to note that there aren't any rules when it comes to practicing spirituality. Frankly, it's more about finding your own, unique authenticity.

When I was a spiritual newbie I read all the books, I listened to all of the podcasts and studied everything I could find - because that's in my nature. I love learning new things and in this case it was very helpful and gave me a solid foundation to build my spiritual growth on. But the important thing to note here is that I was attentive to what didn't resonate with ME and what to discard. Just because someone else is really into something it doesn't mean that you should be as well. Be open to learn and experience new things but only keep what lights you up and what is helpful to you on your journey. Because remember - everyone's journey is different and we are not here to learn the same things. At least not at the same time or in the same way. So be respectful to yourself and don't lose yourself in the spiritual trends. And one more thing - you don't necessarily need anything. All you need is already within. Yes, there are tools and things that are helpful for various practices (like crystals, palo santo, feathers, jewelry, books, rituals, magic coffee, card decks and a million other attributes) but you are fine just the way you are. And wherever you are. You don't need to go to a Bali retreat or the rainforest to practice meditation. You are in the right place at the right time and that in itself is divine. And remember, if you start your spiritual practice right where you are in your life - instead of escaping to the "perfect" environment - you will be able to adjust and learn from a more authentic place rather than finding your peace on the beach och in the forest and then being completely chocked when returning to your usual busy lifestyle.

So, the essence of this post is really to encourage everyone to do their own thing - and to find that thing in their own way. Don't listen to what other people are doing unless that really resonates with you. In that case, learn more and find how you can incorporate that specific thing into your own life and your own routine without copying someone else.

Sometimes we can come across a person in our social media who seems so put together and perfect and we think that if we do all the things that he or she does we will reach that state of perfection as well. But if that's not your journey those practices will all backfire because they are not for you and by sticking to them you are diminishing your authentic voice.

Remember, there are no rules in the spiritual world. The only goal is for us to commit to the things that lights us up. Because when we are lit, happy and aligned we can show up for others and do good in the world. Who's with me? 💫

My favorite truths:

The Universe will not punish you for skipping a Moon ritual if you don't have time.

You don't need to meditate with a crystal to achieve inner peace. You can create that energy within by v i s u a l i z i n g.

You don't need the perfect, shiny matching yoga outfit with the bare flat tummy to stretch your body. PJs are fine too.

You are never alone. The Universe is all around you and inside of you.

Meditation doesn't have to be performed in a lotus position by the sea - meditation looks differently for everyone. Whatever helps you tap into a deep breath is ok.

You will never reach that perfect state of happiness or peace - the spiritual journey continues until you leave this planet. You are ever-evolving.

It's not about how much you know, you have to practice it daily.

There is no hierarchy in the Universe, a person who claims to have "awakened" is not better than anyone else.

You are loved, safe and treasured and we are all equally important in the process on this planet.

Everyone is doing their best and everyone's journey is different.

It is never too late to start working on yourself.

The spiritual process is not all about love and light. It's about learning how to walk hand in hand with your shadow.

Manifestation is not about erasing thoughts about what you don't want in your life. It's about staying in your worth ad believing that you deserve the best.

"No" is the most magnetizing word. (- Lacy Phillips)

The Universe will not shame you for loving luxury and money. Money enables us to live a fulfilling life.

You can skip the matcha if you don't like it, it's ok to drink coffee.

Astrology is fun and very useful but it doesn't tell you what to do - you still have to make your own choices.

And no, you can't always blame your shitty day on the planetary shifts.

And no, Mercury retrograde isn't to be feared. It's the P E R F E C T time to go inward, face your shadow and passing the tests to evolve even more.

You can do anything.
