Hawai’i’ - Haleakala Sunrise

"Haleakala” means the House of the Sun.

Woke up 4am. Drove 1.5 hours from the North Shore to Haleakala Summit , just to see the memorable sunrise and the sea of clouds.

Temperature? Near 0°C degrees.

Once in a lifetime. Love the experience!

simplymariana,
This is right up my street! I wish I could do this more often. Just waking up super early to go hike up a mountain, see the sun rising at the summit, take some memorable photos and come back down. I wish I had the guts to do it alone, but I'm too scared of getting lost...or if something more serious happens, God forbid, I don't want to be on my own, if that makes sense. So I keep putting experiences like this off...but wow, these pictures are stunning! x

BetterSunkissed,
Please go! Its really beautiful!! You are so lucky to live nearby!
There are a lot of people up there, even before the sunrise... There are also many excursion buses, if you don't want to go alone, - which makes sense- I would suggest those buses ! If you go, let me know how it went! xx
