Hello everyone!

Last time I talked about snacks and sweets. I feel like the key to having a healthy life is to have a balanced life. Therefore, I have decided to not limit myself too much and to not feel guilty when ever I have something dessert like. What I have tried to do is to find healthier options to the unhealthy things.

So last time i shared something salty with you. To replace chips or other salty snacks. This time I have decided to share something sweet with you.

These are my brownie bliss balls. They are gluten free, sugar free and dairy free. It's the perfect snack to have to you coffee or as a small little dessert after dinner. They are super easy to make and need no baking time.

1 cup (93 g) raw walnuts

1 cup (150 g) raw almonds

2 1/2 cups (~425 g) pitted dates (if dry, soak in warm water for 10 minutes then drain)

3/4 cup (60 g) cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder

2 Tbsp cacao nibs

1/4 tsp sea salt

  1. Add 1 cup walnuts and almonds in food processor and process until finely ground.
  2. Add the cacao powder and sea salt. Add the mixture into bowl and set aside.
  3. Add the dates to the food processor and process until small bits remain. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add nut and cocoa mixture back into food processor and while processing, drop small handfuls of the date pieces down into the food processor.
  5. Process until a dough consistency is achieved, adding more dates if the mixture does not hold together when squeezed in your hand. You may not use all the dates.
  6. Then roll the mixture into walnut sized balls and put them in to freezer.

Ready to eat! The perfect compliment for you afternoon coffee.

I’m not much of a candy gal. I don’t need candy with my movie on a Saturday night. I do however love chocolate, not just any kind of chocolate but the kind that consists of 70% coco. The darker, the better. I also love salty things, like popcorn and chips.

Unfortunately for me these things don’t always coexist that well with my so called “healthy lifestyle”.

I am sure that I am not the only one who feels this way. Therefore, I have made it my mission to find and create substitutes for the sweet things (and salty) in life that you and I may miss.

I have decided to share with you my recipe for my kale chips. It is super easy and the perfect replacement for regular chips. They actually taste good, no lie!

Sometimes when I’m feeling lazy, I’ll fry the kale up in a pan, with som olive oil and salt. Fry them until soft and serve them with your food or eat them as they are. I love to top them off with some chia seeds and/or some walnuts.

Now! On to the chips recipe:

Put the oven on 150 degrees Celsius (~300 Fahrenheit).

Wash the kale leaves and let them dry. Make sure that they aren’t wet or they won’t be crispy.

Take the leaves of the stem and break the remaining parts into pieces.

Place them on a pan. Use two pans if needed. The leaves will shrink in the oven but don’t place too close to each other or they might get mushy.

Add about 2 tablespoons of desired oil (coconut, olive).

Massage the oil into the leaves so that they are really coated.

Add salt.

Then add spices if you wish. I used garlic powder and paprika powder.

Place the pan in the oven and let them bake for 10 min.

Take them out and flip them around and bake for another 5 min.

Take them out. If the feel crispy and dry they are done. If not you can leave them in the oven for a few more minutes.

Leave to cool and enjoy!

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to show you how I do my tumeric latte or golden milk as some like to call it. I am actually feeling a bit sick right now so a tumeric latte is perfect for the occation. Since tumeric is packed with antioxidants and is an inflammitory, it's perfect for when you're feeling a little sicky and the color is so beautiful and vibrant so it'll cheer you up.

The first time I tried golden milk I actually didn't like it. And I'm the kind of person who won't eat something I don't like just because someone somewhere said that it was healthy. But then after a few weeks I found another recipe and decided to try and make it again. This was a winner. This is the best one yet and I make it all the time. I know that some have been interested so I thought I'd share the recipe.

1 cup of any kind of milk

1 cm of tumeric root**

2 cm of ginger root

1 - 2 teaspoons of honey

A pinch of black pepper***

Some cinnamon

* You can use powdered tumeric if you want to.

** You can use powdered ginger here too. I prefer the root of both spices.

*** The black pepper helps absorb the tumeric

Just pour the milk into a kettle and grate in the tumeric and ginger. Then add the honey and black pepper. Warm it up but don't bring it up to a boil since that will break down most of the nutrients in the tumeric and ginger. Pour it into a cup and enjoy.

I love this and It's super easy! Let me know how yours went!

Hello everyone!

It's been a while. I've been busy with work and personal things. I've also changed my work out routine and some of my food habits. But more on that later! Since I've been gone a while I decided to present a new recipe for all off you!

The rose latte!

Rose water is super good for your skin. It hydrates and balances the pH on your skin, which makes for a great natural toner. It's an antioxidant and has anti bacterial properties. I use it on my skin and on my hair. Not only does it leave you feeling fresh but it also smells amazing!

I really loved this recipe! It tastes great and I love the color! It's perfect for valentines day but the raspberries and roses also makes it a perfect drink for the summer! You can also just drink it as a regular beverage of course!

1 cup of any kind of milk*

2 teaspoons rose water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup frozen raspberries**
Pinch sea salt
1 heaping teaspoon coconut oil
2 teaspoons honey***

*I used a non-dairy milk, almond milk. Just use whichever milk you prefer!

**You can make it without raspberries if you want!

*** Use a sweetener of choice, maple syrup, stevia, sugar. I used honey.

Combine all of the ingredients in a sauce pan except for the coconut oil and the honey. Let simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let it cool. Then use a blender to mix all off the ingredients so it becomes smooth. Strain the mixture using a fine-mesh strainer to get rid of all off the seeds from the raspberries. Then add the coconut oil and honey. Blend again to make it frothy (optional).

Hello everyone!

I would like to introduce you to a series that I'm going to call "Let's talk about...". This is where I will choose a product/ingredient to talk about. The plan is to highlight it's benefits and/or disadvantages with the chosen product. If you have any requests of a product you would like to know more about, just comment below.

This time we are talking about coconuts. Now there are many forms of coconut, but I have chosen to talk about coconut oil in this post. Coconut oil is something that has really become popular recently but has been used for years in other parts of the world. So why is this oil called "the miracle oil"?

First of all, you can use it for everything!! I have two jars in my home, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. I use it for hairmasks and as a make up remover. Like dissolves like. Which means that oils will dissolve other oils. This makes it very good if you need to remove make up or oil build up in your hair. In the kitchen I use it as cooking oil. It tastes very good and is a good option if you are intolerant or allergic to dairy products. I also use it in my vegan recipes and in my smoothies. Since it is a healthy fat it will fill you up and make you feel full for a longer time without making you fat. Many believe that you shouldn't eat fats but they are not the enemy! You need them!

When it comes to oil, always buy the cold pressed ones!! When an oil is cold pressed it contains a lot more of it's nutrients, which makes it healthier for you! You'll know it's cold pressed if it has a white milky color and is solid in room temperature.

Here are some other benefits of coconut oil:

  • Good for your immune system
  • Helps in weight loss
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Improves digestion
  • Improves skin
  • Balances your hormones

There are a lot more benefits of coconut oil. I really love coconut oil and I use it daily! I wouldn't recommend something that I didn't believe in myself! So if you haven't you should really try it out! I will list a recipe for a coconut hairmask that I usually make. It is absolutely amazing and my hair feels super soft afterwards and it makes it insanely shiny! Just mix it and put into your hair for at least an hour or for as long as you can and the rinse it out with schampoo!

1 tablespoon of coconut oil

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 egg

1 teaspoon honey

So yesterday was my birthday. I woke up and had a very big and yummy breakfast. I wasn't feeling very energized so I took a rest day and went into town instead. Even though I got some very lovely presents (clothes, active wear and beauty products), I decided to get myself a lite present as well. Now what I bought wasn't that big. It was just two types off essential oils, rosemary and lavender. If you want me to make a post about essential oils and what they are and how to use them. Leave a comment below and let me know!

As for today. Today was leg day because Monday is always leg day for me. I do like to have my workouts planned for the week so I know what to do everyday. If you have a routine you are more likely to actually do your workout. I go to the gym after breakfast every single day!

I want to share my recipe for my matcha latte with you all! This is so easy! I make it almost every morning and it is so good. It is also filled with caffeine so you will feel energized after it. It is also packed with antioxidants, it burns calories and it detoxes your body! Matcha is a superfood! Try it out and tell me what you think! <3

3 dl (12 ounces) of any kind of milk.*

1 - 1 1/2 teaspoon of matcha powder**

2 teaspoons honey, or other sweetener (maple syrup, stevia, agave syrup), Of course you can add more if you like it sweet

Optional: A splash of vanilla extract

*I use a non-dairy milk. Usually it is unsweetened almond milk. If you want something creamer and sweeter than I would recommend coconut milk. I have tried it a few times and it's really good. If you want regular milk then use that.

** This depends on if you want it very flavorful or not. I would recommend just taking 1 teaspoon if you are new to the taste.
