If you never tasted a Swedish cinammon bun, you are missing a good part of life!. I am not particularly fond of sweet buns, pastries, cookies or cakes, but these buns I cannot avoid. I have tried many different cinnamon buns in Uppsala, though this one is the perfect one for me. And warm! just from the oven.
This photo is from 2016, my first close encounter with a really yummi "KANELBULLE". Where? At ERIKSHJÄLPEN´s Second-hand shop in Uppsala. It was love at first sight. These kanelbullar are baked non-stop on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays at Erikshjälpen. Imagine how they smell ? I posted this photo because I am not so good at baking. My mother and grandmother were, yes ... and how I miss them!
The story about the origin of Cinnamon Day in Sweden starts in October 4, 1999 thanks to a woman called Kaeth Gardestedt, project responsible for the Hembakningsrådet of Sweden. You can google and you shall find lots of info about her.
Enjoy this Sunday 4th October with family, neighbours or friends some good home-made kanelbullar with coffee!
