As a little girl, around the time that we do our confirmation to God in Denmark, I was rather pessimistic to the idea of myself ever having a wedding day or getting married. I also didn’t believe in God and therefore chose to have a nonfirmation.
The confirmation also used to be a ritual of passage because back in the day at age 13-14, this is when you would enter the working market.
So I ofc didn’t see any reason for me to not have a party and I told my parents, that they had to get me a white dress as you do in a confirmation because it was probably my only chance to ever have a white dress. Little did I know I’d later have a few occasions to wear white dresses at work and pretend I’m having a wedding day or two.
