Happy late Easter to all of you!
This weekend it was Easter, and here in the United States, only Easter was celebrated on Sunday the first of April. But in Sweden Eastereve was on Saturday, so late on Friday night I was up and fixed for an Easteregg hunt for the children. I went around and hid clues in the house and went and hid the candy in the treasure chest, aka the mailbox.
I did not work on the weekend but on Saturday morning I went up, woke the kids up and said that the Swedish Easter bunny had been visiting. I gave them the first clue then they ran around and looked for the others. And, of course, the children became overjoyed when they found the candy.
Later in the morning, I went away and ate breakfast at IHOP with Zaylia, that was the first time I ate there and it will not be the last! Then we went to IKEA because I wanted Swedish candy! And it was Zaylia's first time there and I got her to try Swedish meatballs!
Then on Sunday I went away with my host family for an Easter celebration, as they do every year. And my host dad had asked me if I could do something Swedish for the party. And of course I said I could do it. So I decided to make Janson's Temptation. All the guests tasted of it but everyone was not so fond of it.
There were also two different Easter egg hunts, one for the children and one for the adults, and I participated. You walked around looking for hidden eggs in the garden, and in some of them there were nots with different prices you could win. I found seven eggs but did not get any notes in any of them, then we found out that there were two eggs left that had notes so I want out again and searched, found several new eggs but no notes. Then after about 20 minutes I found an egg with a note, and on the note it said that I won a lottery thing, but I won nothing on the lottery. Then we eat Easter food. And it was not near the easter food we eat in Sweden! Then I went out to find the last egg with a note, and I got my oldest host child to help me. And after about 30 minutes exploring we found it! So we both won a movie ticket! Which was awesome because I love going to the movies!
Later it was dessert and we all just sat talking to each other until it was time to go home.
