This past Sunday, I and Zaylia spent the day biking around Block Island.
We took the ferry from Point Judith at 8 o'clock in the morning and the boat trip would take about an hour so we arrived at Block Island about 9 o'clock. We went straight and rented bikes and then the bike ride started around the island, we saw the south lighthouse, The Painted Rock, a very weird thing. We stopped to look at some famous stairs that went along swine cliffs down to a beach, did not get what was so special about that, haha. We took a small brake at New Harbor bought something small to eat to get new powers to later bike on to the northern lighthouse. The bike ride there took about 20 minutes and then we had to park the bikes to walk along a beach for 10 minutes to arrive and it was not the easiest sand to walk in. Once there we sat down to catch our breath, then we went to go to buy water because we had finished ours, inside the lighthouse there was also a small museum but we did not look at it because of having to pay for it.
The woman who worked there asked where we were from because she thought we talked with accents and when she found out we were from Sweden and Namibia she got up and said we had to put a needle on a map like they had. Then when she asked what we did in Rhode Island and we told them that we were Au Pairs, there was another man who wanted to interview us for the Block Island Times, a magazine. Which was very fun.
Then it was time to ride back to return the bikes, and we just returned before the rental time went out. So we had practically biked around for 5 hours.
The time was around 2:30pm so we went for a late lunch, we both had Caesar salad wraps, soooo good!! After we were done we went down to the water to cool of for a bit before it was time to take the ferry back at 4pm.
