PART l

This little trip to Isan was great. We went to different temples in different cities every day the whole time we were there and got to experience Buddhist rituals and environments. We lived in a small village I don't even know the name of, but it's not far from Sakhon Nakhon.

I seriously don't prefer to be in front of the camera, I always kind of want to be behind it haha. Wich is one reason why I usually never show my face in my pictures. Anyways...
Today is another summer paradise day. Days like this are a great day to jump on a boat and go to Poda island or Railay. It's only like ten minutes away from here. But as they say, business before pleasure.

You can see Poda island from the beach here. It's so beautiful there. It's hard to understand it's so close to where we live, since Ao Nang beach isn't very crystal blue nowadays like 20 years ago. But at Poda island it's so clear it doesn't matter how far out you go, you can still see your feet. Set the alarm and go there early before all the tourists come, or be there a whole day and enjoy the sunset.

Railay beach is one of my favorite places here in Thailand. Since I'm not a big fan of just laying at a beach this place is pretty awesome for me. If you're into climbing, then it's a must to go to Railay. It's famous for its rock climbing since Railay is surrounded by mountains. It's a very tropical place and super chill.
I also want to highly recommend to go visit Princess lagoon while you're there. It's very challenging but it's a great experience. You can of course go with a group and with a professional climber.
Or if you're just that type of a person who just want to chill then they have beautiful resorts by the beach as well, relax by the pool and enjoy with a nice cocktail. Water is perfect blue and the sand is white and soft.

This is a little throwback from three amazing days at a place here in Thailand called Similan Islands.
It's an island group west of Phuket. Eleven small paradise islands. They have day trips but I personally think it's much more worth to actually stay there for two nights and explore the islands for three days to get the full experience. Don't expect high quality spa and resorts. If you book in time you can get yourself a nice bungalow or you can stay on a big tour/diving boat. Wich is the big boat you go around the islands with to go snorkeling or whatever.

Or you can do what we did, sleep in a tent. It was a cool experience to sleep out in the jungle, under the nightsky full of bats and waking up to the sound of the waves. But I think we are done sleeping in tents (for good) so next time we'll choose a more comfortable stay. I'm sure the clear blue water of similan will be nothing short of awesome.

So if you're ever in Thailand or planning to go, I strongly recommend this place.

So why did we leave Sweden?
It is not like we were running away from anything, we both had a great life back there. Wonderful families and friends. Both me and Charles have a lot of things in life we want to see, experience and achieve. Which takes time of course and a lot of work. But the great part was we both happily took a risk and were willing to leave everything behind us. And things are actually going pretty well.

As I wrote in my earlier post, not everything has been easy since we first got here.
We came to Phuket at first, thinking we would love it there. Wrong. We actually hated it. Great place to go on vacation with your friends, you have crazy nightlife and beautiful beaches. But not a place for us to live in. So thats when we decided to move to Krabi, a small place called Ao Nang. And we've been here ever since. We have beautiful nature around us, islands and my favorite place Railay beach is just 10 minutes away with a longtail boat.
Now we've been here for over six months. Renting a beautiful house, helping homeless animals, travel around, exploring and meeting great people from all around the world.

I really want to make one thing clear though, since so many thinking I'm on a vacation... It is nothing like that. Every day is a new lesson and every day I come closer to who I want to become and what I want to do, without any distractions. Some will understand, some won't. I'm very blessed and very lucky yes. But it takes a lot of work to get to where I want to be. It's all hard work behind the scenes.

40°C day, no clouds in the sky. Due to our new born kittens, it was quite the sleepless night.
But who can complain on such a beautiful day.
Ending this day perfectly with the thai sunset at the beach and having my handsome man cooking late dinner for us.
He always treats my like a queen.

I will keep you posted and try to get the hang of this blog thing. Thank you for reading!

As you may or may not know, I am currently in Thailand at the moment, living here with my partner in crime (@charlesberg)
Why Thailand? Well first of all, I'm actually 50% thai. So I thought to myself it would be awesome and super easy, not just being here on vacation but to actually live here, since I'm half thai. Awesome? Yes. Super easy? Well, I was wrong about that. But that's another story some other time.
Another reason - PARADISE.

Light clear blue water, palmtrees, islands, adventuring, exploring... It all somehow gives me freedom and peace.
My name is Sofie, I'm a 22 years young traveller. Chasing dreams and capturing moments.
