I have learned that the culture and food in the Philippines are different than it is in Sweden. The weather here is also very different from Sweden.

I really hope that I can come back someday and spend another week here. Soon my flight should be here and about 20 hours I hope I’m home in my own bed. See you another time the Philippines!!

Now I am back at the hotel and tomorrow I’m going home. Today have been an interesting day I have been at the historical fort Santiago. The fort is very important to the history in Manila, several lives has been lost in the prison during the world war two. You can see the footprints of the hero Jose Rizal who the park I was in the first day are named after. The footprints are representing his final walk from his cell to execution. After I had been to the fort I went back to the hotel and I have been chilling here the rest of the day and now it’s time to go to dinner.

Tomorrow I´m going home and it’s a little sad because this have been an amazing trip!!

This day have been so fun, I have spent almost the whole day at a island called Luzon with a big active volcano called Mayon Volcano which also know as Mount Mayon. The volcano has picked up the nickname “Perfect Cone” because of its symmetrical cone shape. It was really fun and interesting to hear about the volcano. In 1814 it had an explosion that led to that over 1200 people lost their lives. The volcano and surrounding areas are part of a national park that I also visit. After I had spent almost the whole day at the island Luzon I decided to go back to the hotel and spend some time at the pool. This was the first time I saw a volcano and we don’t have any in Sweden so it was interesting to see one in real life.

Now I only have two days left and I have had a great time here in the Philippines. I really hope the last day are going to be the best!

Now I’m back at the hotel after two wonderful days on Malapascua Island. This day started that I woke up at 8 in the morning and it was so warm so I went down to the beach to swim a little. After that I went back to my bungalow and ate a delicious breakfast with the girl I met yesterday. To lunch the locals made a typical dish. The dish was steamed rice and served with meat, fish and vegetables. Like in most Asian countries, the staple food in the Philippines is rice. To dinner we ate the leftover rice and it was fried with garlic to make sinangag, which is usually served at breakfast together with a fried egg and cured meat or sausages but we ate it to dinner because we didn’t have the time to stay one more day. During the day I just chilled and laid in the sun and swam in the beautiful ocean. The food is different from Sweden here they eat rice to almost everything and they even eat rice to breakfast, but one thing can I say it was really good.

Now I am back at the hotel and it’s late so I’m going to sleep soon. These two days have been the best so far, but I hoping the last days are going to be even better. See you tomorrow!!

Today is almost over and I’m not at the hotel but I am in a beach bungalow on an island called Malapascua Island. There are 7,107 islands in the Philippines so getting to them all would be almost impossible, however Malapascua Island is one that you should not miss out on, it’s amazing.

This island is a tiny beach paradise that offers you a chance to get away from everything for a few days so you can relax. You can rent a small beach bungalow like I have done. I am going to stay here to tomorrow and today I have mingled with the locals and walked around in their community. Life on the island is still fairly primitive, so therefore I am just having electric at two hours in the evening and the water I need to shower are coming from a bottle but the life here is fantastic. The life on the island is very different compared to Sweden. In my house in Sweden I have internet all the time and can take shower whenever I want and how long I want. The people here are also very different from swedes, I have talk to more people here in a day than I have done in all my years in Sweden. The people here are much nicer than in Sweden. For example I am now sitting in my beach bungalow with a person that I met today. We have seen the island together and now we're going to eat dinner.

This day have been so fun and I’m looking forward to see what it’s going to happen tomorrow!

This morning I woke up at 8.30. I wasn’t hungry so I decided to start my day to go to the destination of today. At 9.30 I was in Rizal Park and then I decided to get something to eat since I didn’t ate something in the morning. I went to the first café I saw, the café served smoothies and sandwiches, I got a smoothie and it was really good. I sat at a table outside the café and drank my smoothie and I started talking to a nice women besides me and she told me that the park isn’t only a cozy and relaxing place to spend time in, the park will also tour you hundred years of Philippine history. After I had eaten I started go around in the park and I saw the hundred year old Monument of Rizal and a person that I met there told me that it is the country’s most famous, most visited and most photographed monument. I continued walk in the park and when i had walked about a 100 meter from Rizal’s monument I came to the exact location of Rizal’s execution on December 30, 1896. After I had seen some historical of the Philippines I just chilled in the park with its grassy land, green trees, gardens for picnics and meditations, as well as a musical dancing fountain. The park is where people can escape the stressful noise of the city so I thought it was a good idea to have a picnic in the park. So on my second day I decided to spend in the amazing park in the Philippines capital.

Now I am back at the hotel and really tired so I am just going to eat something at the hotel restaurant and after that I’m going to bed. See you tomorrow!

I arrived at the hotel in Manila in the Philippines yesterday. It was a long day, I was at the airport at 6 in the morning and landed in the Philippines at 11 in the evening. When I came to the hotel I went straight to bed. Today I started the day to eat breakfast at the hotel and it was so good after that I was just going around in the city. I haven't done much today just chilling at the big pool, the weather is so different compared to Sweden it's 36 degrees now in the evening and in Sweden it's almost never over 30 degrees. It has been a great first day and tomorrow the adventures starts.
