We left PP today and just arrived on Koh Phangan. It's been a long day travelling... 9 hours of boat + bus + boat. We found some new swedish friends on the way here that we're planning on meeting up at Koh Tao.
We haven't planned yet how long we're gonna stay on Phangan. We'll just feel the vibe here and go to Tao whenever we feel done here. Sadly we're missing out on the Full Moon party but we're gonna celebrate Black Moon the 5th instead.
Having such a good time here on Phi Phi. Celebrated Valborg (all the non-swedish people here pronounce it volleyboll haha) last night by listening to live music at our favourite bar here. We've been snorkeling, diving and met a lot of new friends. We've seen sharks while snorkeling here too, so cool. We're leaving on Tuesday for Koh Phangan.
So we arrived here on Phi Phi on Tuesday. Really enjoy the island although it's a bit destroyed by all the tourism. The first day I had to rest because I was still feeling sick. Yesterday we hiked up to the viewpoint and got a good view over the bay. Today I woke up before sunrise and went diving. Really recommend Phi Phi Scuba if you ever plan on going diving on Phi Phi.
The first stop was Bida Nok where I hoped to see some black tail and leopard sharks. Unfortunately I wasn't able to equalize so I couldn't descend. We hanged out by Maya Bay and ate lunch before our next stop Malong. WOW what a difference in the visibility compared to Malay!! There the visibility was like 3 m (really bad) and here it was about 20-30 m. Saw some turtles, lionfish, lots of angelfish, cuttlefish... Amazing corals. I would also like to go diving at Shark Point and try out Bida Nok. It's just a matter of money...
Tonight we're gonna try out what Phi Phi is most famous for... The nightlife.
Okay it started well. We went rock climbing and I managed to go pretty high on a pretty difficult route. Then dinner and muay thai. The restaurant was so pleasant, almost everyone there got really engaged in my mosqito bites and the people working there brought me a thai oil they thought would help. Then we laughed because it's so funny how everyone is so caring and helpful here, so different from Sweden.
Later we went to sleep and everything seemed good beans. But then ladies and gentlemen, I woke up around 6 am and the hell started. It turned out to be food poisoning. Now, 48 hours later I feel ok. Hopefully I won't get sick ever again during this trip!!
So I finished the final exam and got my diving certificate!! The last dives where amazing. We played with 8 dolphins and as we surfaced an eagle flew by really close. Eagle is actually the national bird of Malaysia.
Later that day we wanted to celebrate my certificate with a drink at our favorite place Cliff bar but the night ended at the hostpital instead. The sweetest hostelowner drove me there and made sure I got the right treatment. I went back with three different medications and Melati (the hostelowner) saying "I'm your private nurse now". If you go to Langkawi (Pantai Cenang) you have to stay at either RU Melati hotel or dorm. Melati and his cousin are so genuin and careing about their guests.
Last night we arrived at Ao Nang and today we came to Railay beach. We're probably gonna stay here one more night and then head to Phi Phi. We ran in to some of our chilean friends today that we met in Lipe, crazy enough.
As you can tell from the picture I woke up before sunrise today. Had some theory and went diving by 9 am. The visibility is usually better in the mornings so we always go diving early. I did two dives today, one 40 minute and one 50 minute. I also did a swimming and floating test for my certificate. The diving gets more fun each time under the surface. I feel more confident and comfortafle with my equipment. We saw some scorpionfish and lionfish, the rest I don't remeber the names for.. Tomorrow I'm doing my final exam and excercises!
Well a lot has happened the last few days, where to start? First of all I must have a curse when it comes to electronic equipment. First my computer acts upp (in Sweden we call it myrornas krig) and overheats everytime I use it. Then I drop my phone on the floor (whitch has happened about 10 000 times before) and it decides this particular time to never wake up again.
Anyhow we had a blast on Koh Lipe. Such a lovely island. Although it's not a party kind of island we had so much fun the last night. We drank pisco with our new south american friends and laughed all night long.
Yesterday we took the ferry back to Langkawi. It was so lovely to come back when some of the locals recognized us and were happy to see us again. We took a taxi to a shopping area to buy me a new phone and the driver was litterally the cutest old man I've ever met. He treated us like princesses! People in Asia are generally so incredibly kind and helpful without expecting something in return.
Today was my first day on my scuba diving course. A lot of theory and information to take in on three days. I also got to dive for the first time. Damn how scary it was at first. I totally paniced and thought that I was going to die. But the feeling when I overcame my fear and managed the exercises was unbeatable. Everything is basically about breathing and staying calm.
What else? I've got bites (from mosqitos or bedbugs not sure) all over my legs that itches like crazy. Hopefully it's not beedbugs or Malaria.
Yesterday and today we spent the day on the beach. If you ever go to Koh Lipe, sunrise beach is the best. I can't even describe the sand and the water, you have to see it to understand how beautiful it is. After the beach we ate dinner and freshed up before we met the swedes again for a beer. We found a cozy reagge bar by the beach.
Love the Lipe life. Days on the beach, amazing food, great people and bohemic atmosphere. Tomorrow we're going on snorkling trip, so excited!
We started the day with a short powerwalk and now we're sittning eating breakfast at a café. We're gonna meet up some swedes at the beach later today.
