US Exchangeyear 19/20

So this post is probably gonna be pretty short because

1) I have the worst headache and my throat hurts pretty bad too and I just wanna sleep

2) I've been doing homework literally ALL DAY aka writing stuff, so I'm not super excited to write even more now if you know what I'm saying. This was my week:

Monday: I wore my 5SOS-hoodie to school and some people said stuff like "oh I really like your hoodie" and "are you a fan of 5sos? me too!". That was fun. In the afternoon we had cheer and our coach was pretty angry with us for several reasons and that was less fun.

Tuesday: All the other grades had the testing thing again so the seniors had ties and the counselors talked about college and stuff in the auditorium. Since I'm not going to college in the US it was pretty unnecessary for me, but it's kinda interesting to know what it's like applying to college in the states. It also inspired me to study after high school haha. But that's a later problem. In the afternoon we had tumbling practice.

Wednesday: Kierstin stayed and practiced with the JV cheer team after school, so I had no ride home. I got to ride the school bus for the first time and that was an experience. It was a typical American yellow school bus and it stopped like almost right outside of people's houses, which the bus does not do in Sweden (sincerely someone who lives 6 km from the closest bus stop in Sweden). And from what I understood, I'm not sure though, people raise their hands when they want the bus to stop. That's pretty cool.

Thursday: We had cheer in the afternoon and we started with a dance for the home coming assembly where we're going to perform. The dance was fun and I'm excited to perform it!

Friday: We had our first home game, and this game was the most fun so far! In the first quarter kids from the clinic last week was there and cheered too, and that was less fun because then we had to focus on the kids and not ourselves. But after they left it was really fun! It was so cool because since it was a home game the marching band from our school played at the game and they were so good! And then there was a looooot of people watching the game and that was really fun too! And it was just overall a really fun game. And also this game had like a "honor the veterans"-theme which also felt very American. The band played songs for the different branches of the military(?) and then people who are/ have been in the military stood up while everyone else was sitting and that was really cool. It gave me a bigger understanding of how much Americans value their military and veterans etc. and that's really different from Sweden. I don't really remember who we played (maybe Haslett or something?) but we won 41-6 which means that we're undefeated so far! I really wish I could have taken pictures during this game, it felt sooo American and so cool, but since I was cheering that was impossible.

Saturday: We went to a Junior Bulldogs football game where Gianna (youngest host sister) cheered. In the middle of the game one of the players in the other team broke his leg and I think he passed out and that was kinda scary. The ambulance came and everything. I really hope everything went well with him! Also we had Panda for lunch and then pizza for dinner and omg the crust of the pizza was so good.

Sunday: I've just been chilling and doing homework. In the morning I watched the Princess and the frog for the first time in a really long time. It's my favorite Disney princess movie and the music is so good. The rest of the day I've been doing so much homework for Spanish and Creative Writing and now I'm so tired and exhausted. As soon as I post this I'll probably fall asleep.

Also, I forgot to take "real" pictures this week so these are some of the random pictures I have from this week:

And now I'm gonna do your least favorite part but my favorite part; Song of the week. This weeks "Song of the week" is Florida Kilos by Lana Del Rey:

Also!! Don't forget to follow my exchange instagram: @ttilda_abroad . I'm kind of funny there sometimes (or at least I think I'm funny) .

That's it for this week, I'll see you next Sunday. I hope you're excited cos I sure am.

I spent like 10 minutes trying to come up with a fun way to end this post and I did not succeed. I'm so tragic. Bye.

TRANSLATOR AVAILABLE UNDER THE HEADER

Nu har jag städat och fotat, so here you are:

Peace, Love & Netflix

//Tilda <3

Soooo I was supposed to write my summary post of August this week, but that din't happen. I'm gonna do it asap tho, because I really wanna get it done. And I know future me will thank me for writing it.

Sooo yea, this week was pretty similar to last week, or no it wasn't. I don't know.

I think I'm gonna categorize this post day by day like I did last week, because that made it easy to read.

Monday: We were free from school so we went to Detroit and watched a baseball game with Detroit Tigers vs some other team. I didn't understand much of the game but I really enjoyed the experience! The stadium was so cool with like a 100 restaurants (probably not, but it felt like that) and stores and even a carousel! And there were so many people, but the stadium wasn't even full. Like I can't imagine what it must be like when it's sold out. This was the first time I saw Detroit too, and I think it's a really cool city! Here are some pictures:

Tuesday - Thursday: I had pretty normal schooldays and I talked to some new people which is fun! On Tuesday we had tumbling practice and I tried a backwalkover for the first time, with two spots tho but still! I'm kinda proud of myself haha. I don't have any pictures but I think you'll survive.

Friday: It was a normal schoolday and in the evening we had a game against Charlotte. It rained a lot before the game so I thought it would rain during the game too, but it didn't so I'm thankful for that! We won with 50-0 so that's fun! And it was fun cheering too! I don't have any pictures from this game which is sad, but it is what it is.

Saturday: This was a busy day. In the morning all of us in the cheer team had to be at this Cheer Clinic with younger kids who wanted to try cheer. Some of the girls on the team are coaches for the younger people so they were coaching their normal teams and then the rest of us were helping them kinda. When we did this I started to miss coaching in Sweden, and I missed all of my J1 girls and Isak. After this we went home and I showered and ate, and then we went to Jackson for a YFU Party. There was a festival in Jackson called "Bright Walls" where artists from all over the world came and painted on walls of buildings. It was so cool! And my friend Maja from the PDO-camp lives in the same "YFU Area" as I do, so she was there too and it was really fun meeting her! We talked a little in Swedish, which was weird, but then the YFU-people told us to speak in English which was even weirder since we both know Swedish. We didn't get to talk that much, but we will facetime this week which I'm excited for! And after the party we went to the mall in Okemos and I bought two sweaters-ish at H&M so that's great! And then for dinner I ate an Impossible Whopper again and omg it's so good. And omg, this is so cool. I've been drinking kind of a lot of redbull since I got here, and it's kind of associated with me. And when we went home from Jackson we saw this house that were getting rid of stuff, and do you know what they had?? A REDBULL FRIDGE. and we got it. and it's so cool. I love it. I don't even know if it works but it's still so cool

Sunday: Today I haven't done that much. Kierstin and I went to a restaurant named Qdoba, which is like Subway but with Mexican food. So like you decided what kind of food you want, like tacos, burritos etc. And then you choose meat (they had vegan impossible meat and it was so good) and toppings etc. I liked it! Then we went to a store called 5 and below where everything is 5 dollar or below. They had a lot of fun stuff but I didn't get anything. Other than that I've just been chilling and doing homework (I have so much homework btw, especially in Spanish).

Also, since I'm very interested in music I'm gonna start doing this "song of the week" thing where I post a song that I've been listening to a lot every week. And then I'm adding them to a playlist so I can listen to them and remember all weeks haha. So this week's "Song of the week" is "love song" by Lana Del Rey. It's probably my favorite song from NFR!

That's everything from this week! Hopefully I'll write my August post some time this week, and if not I'll see you next Sunday!

Rest in pieces
