Christmas is right around the corner, well first there is thanksgiving for those of us living in America, then there is black friday with finals  just around the corner before christmas finally is upon us again.

At the Volez, Voguez, Voyagez exhibition, these LV suitcases from back in the days got my attention, imagine packing in these and not taking overweight into consideration, it would be a travellers dream.

The details are on point, the design is incredible and the practical solutions is right up my alley so this is what I want for Christmas. Enough with the wheeled suitcases, give me a trunk of the good old fashioned LV and I am good to go, perhaps not good to go but it would be something.

Technology has changed our behavior and way of life, no question about that- letters evolve to emails, postcards to either Instagram or Snapchat. and a yellow taxi became an uber. I don´t mind the changes we are facing day by day, but i do like the old fashion letter in the mail or even a post stamp because I can´t count how many times I have been trying to find a post office at an airport abroad in order to send my postcards instead of taking them all home.

As a result the idea of being a post stamp and sticking to a thing until you get there makes so much sense to me- it might be old fashion but it is true.

I wrote about the yellow stickers the other day and somehow the story continues, I wonder which one was written first and what the author hoped to express with these yellow notes all over Williamsburg.

Everyone loves to travel in style, it does not matter where you are going or what takes you there, as long as you are traveling in style. Louis Vuitton understood the concept of style early on, he understood the concept of travel and somehow he intervene them and created a suitcase with the monogram LV. Little did he know that this would be the beginning of a multimillion dollar company for the years to come.

Right now Louis Vuitton is opening the doors to "VOLEZ, VOGUEZ, VOYAGEZ" in order for the public to understand, explore and experience the history, development and understanding of both the brand and concept of traveling in style. It is worth spending an hour of your saturday or sunday (free admission) down in the financial district to get a look of the idea that started this amazing journey and our desire for the LV monogram.

New York has a thing about stickers, a little square piece of paper with glue on the back attached to mundane things like a lamppost, a subway cart, walls or a simple dustbin. Some stickers are funny small remarks while other stickers has a meaning, something to think about when we go about our day.

In Williamsburg I have seen this yellow stickers all over the neighborhood- it is quotes statements about love from various perspective. They caught my eye because of the color, but when I noticed more of them I realized someone were telling a story with these yellow stickers, someone wanted to share their own life with the people of NY. I wonder if the story is over and how it ended, or if they decided to continue the story somewhere else in the city, I guess I have to keep my eye out for the yellow sticker now!

When in New York you have to experience Broadway at one point, to see what all the fuzz is about and why so many people are mesmerized by this incredible phenomenon. The first time I visited New York, I dragged my mother to see "Kinky Boots", a musical about drag queens and boots. I wasn't familiar with the story, the songs or the cast- but I had heard so many great things about Broadway so I wanted to see it for myself and I fell in love. The musical was amazing and I was hooked, so when my friend asked me to come along and see "Waitress" I had to say yes.

Waitress tells the story about Jenna Hunterson, an unhappy married woman who works as a waitress with a passion of baking and pies. It illsutrates important social issues such as domestic violence, economical independence and the desire to be something else in life.

So if you are in New York and you want an extraordinary experience, I highly recommend Broadway for its musicals and life, I promise it will take you great away.

My favorite thing about living abroad and in New York is meeting new people, suddenly strangers become friends and interesting stories are uncovered if you dare to listen to them, because every person out there has a story to tell and if you are brave enough to be present you might be surprised about the person sitting next to you.

People call me curious George with my questions and inquisitive mind, living abroad gives me the possibility to be as curious as a like because I can play the foreign card and put it on my Norwegian heritage. My philosophy is if you don't ask, you will never know and there is no stupid question- just stupid answers so I will keep being curious and learn more about the people of New York. How about you? Do you dare to talk to a stranger and get a new friend or hear a new story?

Some people are meant to be free and fly away from home, like birds they emigrate to new places to experience new cultures, languages and people before they back home. Some people like to stay in one place for their entire life, they thrive by the comfort of knowing every brick and stone in their hometown while seeing people come and go along the way. Some people need to go as far away from home to miss what is so familiar and comforting with the place they grew up and someone never returns.

We are all different and somehow we have to figure out a way to be happy with where we are in life and where we are going, we need to adapt to the circumstances and try to make things work regardless of time, space and current location.

Let people go and fly away, but stay in touch and be there for them when they return because I promise you it will be worth it!

Have you ever wondered why the sun always rises on the west and goes down on the east side? No matter where you are in the world and what time of year it is, the sun is consistent in its direction. Well, it might change its setting points a little bit from either north or south of due west or east depending if its winter or summer- but the sun mainly stays the same.

Someone told me the other day that we often forget the small impressive things mother nature is capable off, I mean the sun always rises even when its rains- we just can't see it and the stars always shine even when its daylight outside. We often need to be reminded of these "miracles" and what a better way to do so then by having three cities (New York, San Diego, Fredrikstad) and one sunset because the sun always shine, no matter what they say!

Life of bella
October has almost come to an end and we are moving into November and eventually december, the time has come for pumpkin picking, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas- or the way I would look at it from a students perspective papers, projects, registration and finals.

October is a symbol of fall, you know to get out your warm knits, scarfs and coats, however fall in NY is not what I expected it to be because it´s still so hot outside, when will the thermometer go bellow 60 F? The funny thing about fall is that you can clearly see early adopters in the street using their winter coats even though the whether is still above 70 F, but I don't judge them because sometimes you just have to a stand and say: It is officially fall!
