Now after being in New Zealand for such a long time with your friends, you start to notice a lot of differences between Sweden and New Zealand's. The Maoris is a great exemple. The Maoris is a stubborn, rough-looking race, but you won't believe how kind and thoughtful they are. The Maoris lived in New Zealand long before anyone even knew that the Earth wasn't flat, until the Englishman James Cook came and discovered the island. Maoris have their own traditions and their own gods. Even their own language. New Zealand in their own languge is Autearora if your were curious. But of course there is not only Maoris living in NZ. After James Cook discovery, thousands of people came to NZ, from all round the globe, looking for a new life. Maoris have a fun way of cooking food. They dig a deep hole, heat a lot of stones in a fire, put half the stones in the hole, cover the stones with chicken, kumara( a potato) and vegetables and then cover the food with the rest of the stones. It's really good.
The second special thing about New Zealand is that there are no predators in New Zealand. A bit unusual.
Thanks for reading our blog and have a good day.
