It's been absolutely insane weather in Dubai. When I was in Cape Town, the plane we were gonna take back to Dubai arrived almost 2 hours late because the weather in Dubai was so crazy planes couldn't take off.
When we finally were about to arrive back into Dubai yesterday morning we almost couldn't land because of the weather problem. Heavy rain and winds. We ended up landing 2.5 hours late as we were waiting for the airport to let us land, and it was a bumpy ride! It was a long day to say the least. Lucky enough we had the nicest passengers!

Today the weather is about the same. Right now I'm sitting in a taxi to go to Aviation college for my annual tests and it's still rain and it's quite windy.

Update: 5/5 Exams passed πŸ˜‡

Hope this bad weather isn't impacting your days too much if you love in Dubai. And if you plan to visit Dubai, don't come now! Wait till the weather get better before summer comes πŸ˜‰

Take care,
Louise

Morning all!

I'm actually feeling pretty stressed right now because in just a few days I have my annual exams to renew my flying license. I gotta study a couple hundred pages, equipments, aircrafts etc. it's hard work but cannot wait to have it over with! 😩

Last year I passed everything on my first try so I'm hoping this year will be the same. If I fail the tests I won't have a job so study study study in on the schedule intensely for the next few days.

I go to Cape Town tomorrow again, so I'm hoping I'll find some time to study there as well considering when I land back in Dubai I have my tests the very next day. Yikes!!

Until then I'll hope you have a great weekend and wish me luck πŸ˜‘

First of all, sorry for the bad updating. This is the life of a Flight Attendant, and I don't always have time to be consistent.

Anyways, I just got back from Cape Town this morning and I had an amazing 24 hours there. Wow! So much to do and see! Good thing I'm going back on Thursday morning again 😊

As soon as I landed I changed into workout gear and took a taxi to Lions Head. From there I started my hike up the mountain and the view was insane!!
It took about 45 minutes to reach the top, so it wasn't the longest hike but it was steep! A lot of rocks to climb up on, ladders up the cliffs, and staples in the mountain side so you could literally climb up the wall to the top. Pretty easy if you like to climb (like me).

I got some amazing photographs over Cape Town from the top. Absolutely incredible!

After that I went to the waterfront to have some early dinner. It was extremely windy and pretty cold. Luckily the restaurant had blankets so I didn't freeze to death, haha. πŸ˜‰
I ordered Parmesan fries, sushi and oysters. Delicious!

In the back you can see Table mountain. I'll probably be climbing that mountain when I come back on Thursday. Can't wait! It was a bit overcast the day I arrived but hopefully on Thursday table mountain will be cleared up.

I've just come back from a day out on the town with my colleague.
In a few days I have to take my annual exam to renew my flying license. A bit nerve wracking so I went to a cafe called Tub of Butter to study.
This cafe is too cute I have to tell you. Not only is the food delicious but also the fact that their coffee comes with amazing latte art in the form of a celebrity face. So cool!

I'm going to Cape Town at 4am so gotta try and get a nap in before midnight when my alarm is set.

Take care guys,

/ Louise

Hey Guys,

Yesterday I ended up planting garlic in my kitchen. I bought one of these huge nets full of garlic a few weeks back. I love garlic but since we are only two people in our household there was no way we could finish it before it started to grow buds in the net, haha.

I hated the idea of throwing them away so I decided to try if its possible to grow garlic inside. I don't have a balcony πŸ˜”

I grabbed one garlic clove that had grown a bud about 3 cm tall. And the other 3 I planted had a barely visible green little bud. They will take a bit longer to become visible through the soil, but at least one is up ad awake πŸ˜ƒ

Wish me luck with my new little garden!

Ps. I also started "planting" an avocado dead but right now its sitting in water trying to grow roots but its literally taking forever haha. Not sure I did it right since all thats happened in 2 weeks is that its been cracking open in the bottom. Ill give it a few more weeks and we'll see.

Last night I went to a restaurant/cafe I've been wanting to try for a while. It's located at City Walk, super close to me, so we just walked there.
I'm such a sucker for the movie Serendipity, So it was a must for me to visit this place even though it's in Dubai and not New York. I'll try the New York location another day 😊
The name of the place is Serendipity 3. You have to go. So delicious. Huge portions. Just go.

I actually had a massive craving for dessert, and was dying to try their hot chocolate and a cake to go with it. But when I got there the whole menu just made me so confused on what I wanted I ended up getting food, and then becoming to full to even attempt dessert...another day...

Thinking of going to Brisbane, Australia? Here is a few tips from me about things to do there.

Ive been to Brisbane 5 times now and I always have something to do! Even if I don't feel like doing anything special, shopping is just around the corner and there is plenty of it. Amazing clothes in Australia. Great style and lots of different price ranges.

The first four times I was there I stayed right on Queen Street at the Next Hotel. Truly amazing! Its very high tech and just plain awesome there. Beds are soooooooft! Queen Street is a shopping street with malls, and store front shops. Everything from Chanel to H&M. You can easily spend a whole day there. Cute cafes, restaurants etc.

The third time I was there I took the bus from Queen Street down to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. I went alone and it was so relaxing just being there holding the Koala and feeding the Kangaroos. I have to say I always thought that the Koala was the cute animal out of the two, but now I just loooove Kangaroos and not so much the Koala 😝The Koala to me was smelly and uncomfortable. They look cute in pictures and so, but I didn't care for it in person to be honest. However the Kangaroos were just the cutest, funnies animal there. I went into the fenced area where they were all walking around enjoy life and all the food the visitors were giving them, including myself. I'm not sure what the food was, but looked like little pellets you feed a rabbit. I stayed in there for maybe 2 hours just enjoying them, and watching how they move. Very odd animals but so cute. I heard wild Kangaroos can be very aggressive so if you see one in the wild you better run! haha

There are also many activities In Brisbane that I haven't tried yet. I heard you can walk on a Bridge across the river. Sounds like a pretty cool experience so I'll probably try that next time I go.

Hey Guys,

For the first time in months I'm gonna go to work and come right back home. I actually have a turnaround flight tonight, meaning I won't spend the night at the destination. Once the passengers get off, they clean the plane and then will fill up the plane again and go back to Dubai. Long day, hard work, but so worth it to come home again. Normally I don't like turnarounds but since I haven't had one in so long I'm actually quite excited to not have to drag my suitcase around.

This weekend has been busy for me. On thursday when I came back from Glasgow I just relaxed. Went to dinner with my man and watched movies. On friday I went to Blue Marlin with some friends and partied the night away. I don't party often so it was a very fun night! Yesterday I went to a housewarming Party at Luis colleagues house. Amazing house!

I work at 9pm tonight so I still have a few hours to relax after cleaning the whole apartment (except kitchen) phew!

I also bought a new bikini, which is so cute! Ill post pics of it later 😊

See ya!

Just wanted to let you know ill be posting a blog about my guide to Brisbane and the things Ive done in that amazing city, including feeding Kangaroos. Check back for that later!
