This pair of golden slippers has stolen my heart completely. Having the feeling like with just one click of a heel one can be transferred anywhere the mind might wander when wearing these. Even without any superpowers they really are such a fun statement to any outfit and especially suited for the quirky style of Södermalm me and Tiina were exploring.

Once again the silk scarf by Yaelle has proven its worth and gave that much needed little preppy touch to this ensemble. In addition, a sudden change of sunglasses from my most trustworthy pair by Céline to a new pair by a Norwegian brand called Kaibosh was in order when I stumbled into these ones in a little boutique. Adoring the more daring frame with the funky pattern !

Last days in Stockholm have been spent in sunshine, exploring Södermalm and swimming in Hagaparken. Time has flown and although I commenced this post during my last class (as usual) yesterday, I am finishing it in Finland today. This morning it was time to bid the bittersweet farewell to my perfect apartment since I am not coming back here in August but will commence my adventure as an exchange student in the French Riviera. My dreamy little place was the optimal first home away from home. Fortunately two years of unforgettable memories will always remain with me.

Having these photos taken in the garden of my now used-to-be home was really special. My darling Tiina has my eternal gratitude for taking these as well as many other amazing pictures. She really is such an amazing multi-talented person I am extremely lucky to call my friend.

The red lace dress from Gina Tricot has the perfect length and style for any cocktail occasion and I think it suits weddings and graduation parties extremely well. I love the burgundy colour and the flowy layers of the hem which bring a touch of lightness to the rich and strong colour. The yellow heels make the outfit quite a standout combination but somehow the two colours do form a harmonious pair, don´t you think?

Last weekend my best friend came to Stockholm for five brilliant days. Maija and I have known each other for 21 years and met for the first time as two three-months-old toddlers. Since I have no biological siblings she is like my sister and knows me better than anyone else. I am beyond lucky to have such a best friend I can talk about absolutely anything and there is no better a person to give the best advice. I trust her completely and she is such a fun, smart and a beautiful person inside and out.

Maija arrived at Arlanda on Thursday and I went to pick her up with probably the most embarrassing sign on my hands. We decided to go for lunch and then for a little shopping stroll in the city since Maija also brought the warm summer and the sunshine with her to Stockholm.

Friday was all about us making fools out of ourselves (very easy for us) since we rented a paddle boat without having any knowledge on how to control it. After several attempts, public embarrassment and a very close to sinking the boat situation we managed to paddle towards Djurgården laughing all the way there and back. I bet my singing voice also scared half of Stockholm far away from Strandvägen. I sincerely apologise.

The following day we took our course towards Fjäderholmarna and had a lovely picnic in the nearest archipelago of Stockholm. In the evening we put our dancing shoes on since it was time for the most amazing show ever. Yes, I am talking about Bruno Mars' 24K Magic Tour which blew us both away. The music, the dance moves and the unbelievable charisma seen on stage was breathtaking and jamming to the classics like Uptown Funk was astonishing.

Spending the sunny Sunday at the Gröna Lund amusement park was an invincible idea. Of course we also coordinated our outfits suitable for the theme with our striped shirts. The feeling of happiness in the park, all the great rides and a mountain of ice-cream truly is a winning combination even though I had to buy my own consolation prize since I lost every single game we played. When you have no talent nor luck this is the way to go ! We ended the day the best way possible by strolling in the warm evening sun and coming up with the best idea of making the most delicious salmon pasta for dinner. A picture perfect day once again !

The whole weekend I had the wish in my head of being able to stop the time from running. I truly have a privilege of having such a wonderful best friend like Maija. Once again it was the one of the best weekends ever with such legendary ideas only we can come up with. Luckily we have an amazing summer ahead of us and I cannot wait for our glorious plans !

Once upon a time there was a girl who had the privilege of feeling like Cinderella or Belle while dancing (or in her case tumbling) the night away. Last Friday was all about tailcoats, music, dance and gorgeous dresses while Stockholm University hosted its annual Spring Ball at the beautiful venue of Scandic Hasselbacken overlooking the Djurgården, Gröna Lund and the Baltic Sea.

Before taking our pumpkin carriage towards the actual Ball, I hosted a get-together at my place where a group of beautiful princesses ate some strawberries and shared a good amount of laughs about the problems of beautiful but not so comfortable heels while putting on the finishing touches to our hair and makeup.

The actual evening was magical and everyone looked out of a fairytale with dresses in every colour of the rainbow and men in their penguin suits (the absolute best name for tails). The terrace and the victorian style ballroom with its beautiful big windows complimented the event perfectly and the actual dinner with the traditional Swedish sitting songs and performances was such great fun. One cannot call my dancing waltzing but who cares about the moves it is the attitude that counts, right ?

A few words about my dress. I had already ordered a dress from Asos but some kind of a higher power of white-tie events had other plans for me. While paying a visit to H&M to get a pair of golden slippers (more about them later) I all of a sudden saw this dress which sembled more like a painting than a piece of clothing. The sculpture like detailing, flowy hem and the lightness combined with the cold pink tone formed such a piece I simply could not resist. Already at the fitting room despite the fact that I had my running clothes on, hair tied on a high bun without no makeup on, after putting this dress on I felt like singing Tale As Old As Time and well, waltz a little which I basically then did. To continue, I have a very strong belief in fate and it happened to be the last dress in my size. A sign ! No need to explain more, I left the store with a smile up on my ears and the H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection dress in my hand. The most special dress I have ever bought without a doubt.

Courage and kindness for the new week !

This year's theme, for both the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute exhibition and 2017 Met Gala, was Rei Kawakubo, the founder and designer of Comme des Garçons

Kawakubo indeed made history by being be the first living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983 to be the sole subject of the Met's blockbuster fashion exhibit. The avantgarde theme was presented by Hollywood's finest with absolutely stunning and utopistic pieces which were more like paintings or sculptures than clothes. Fashion is one beautiful form of art !

The beauty of these trees never ceases to surprise me. A walk under the perfectly pink flowers is straight out of a little fairytale forest and these little darlings can easily be found in the middle of bustling Stockholm. A true luxury !

In the earlier post I wore this outfit with skinny jeans but here I have changed them into a pair of ruffle trousers from Zara. The choice of colours is unusually simple for me but that can be explained with the amount of textures and accessories going on with the ensemble. I find that a certain balance between the pieces worn is the key to elegance but of course one has to have fun with fashion. Forget the so called rules and rock the outfits you feel like wearing !

If I had to name one item I always end up buying it would be a coat or a jacket. Despite the fact that I already own approximately one million of them I always justify my purchases by referring to the fact that I live in the cold Scandinavia and really do need another one in order to survive the ever changing and challenging weather conditions. Well, at this point of my coat collection I am running out of reasons and weather conditions to justify a new mantle.

However, this particular black beauty by Samsoe&Samsoe has been the best coat investment ever. A classic, sleek model, the perfect length with the fabric of a warm quality wool is a winning combination. I have been able to wear this from early September, throughout the long winter and even now when the spring sun becomes warmer and warmer every day. The key is layering and with this classic one really can combine absolutely anything.

Those fabulous times we have had with my best friend are numerous but now they have a new addition in the form of last weekend's 1st of May celebrations. I had the absolute best time in Vasa with my darling Maija and can't remember the time I have laughed so much as during these three days. One could say we really reached that academic wisdom once again.

Despite the total of 6 hour sleep (yes all together for three days) I wish one could stop time slipping away and make the minutes last longer but luckily Maija will be coming to Stockholm in just a few weeks ! Legendary times ahead.

Aside from the staple piece of the student feast, the one and only Finnish student cap, I wore a vintage Reebok coat which Maija had borrowed from her sister. The bright yellow combined dream with an awesome Los Angeles Lakers logo stole my heart. I will have to steal it.

Great new friends, so many inside jokes I lost count, very lit rapping sessions and so much joy. Who could ask for a better weekend or for a better best friend ?

The flower dress I wore on my birthday has proven to be the most perfect piece for almost every occasion. One can wear it during an evening out, a day on the beach while still wearing a swimsuit under and also for a casual stroll in town. A quick change from ballerinas to high heels transforms this ruffle dream to a completely different dress. Talking about versatility in a pretty package ! It also happens to have all the key elements for this season: ruffles, blue and a blooming pattern.

This post is dedicated to reminiscing the most wonderful weekend and to my precious friends. I am extremely lucky to have such kind, understanding, funny and encouraging people around me who are always there no matter the distance between us. On Friday we had the absolute privilege to see the Danish Girl by Gerda Wegener exhibition and also gorgeous pieces by Chanel, Dior and Balmain owned my Marianne Bernadotte in Millesgården with my dear friend Lari and her family. In order to balance this cultural day we decided to play Mario Kart afterwards (I am the worst player ever).

Saturday I spent strolling around Stockholm while talking to my best friend Maija whom I have known for 21 years (all my life). She is the one I can talk about absolutely everything and we have such a same way of thinking one could almost call that telepathic connection. Once again I had the best time discussing everything under the sun. There is always that kind of clarity in my mind after talking with her. She always gives the best advice and I cannot wait to see her this Friday.

Sunday started early on since my darling Tiina and I had planned a photo session under the pink cloud currently on display in Kungsträdgården. Yes, I am talking about the beautiful cherry trees in all their full bloom and glory. We had an absolute blast (as always) laughing, taking photos (we have the best tactics) and afterwards having a brunch at Crème with dear Caroline. In addition, our girl squad had earned some Sunday shopping after having three exams last week and Zara delivered as it always does.

Later in the evening it was tea time for me and Tiina at my place and besides civilised sipping and analysing the photos, we had a magnificent rapping session with all the best Finnish hits. All I can say that our skills are absolutely legendary and an international career in rapping is basically a done deal. Maybe we should start thinking of a name for our ensemble?

A big hug to all my friends out there and thank you for being you.

Love,

-Fanny

P.S. A special thank you to the staff of MAX Kungsträdgården for letting me change my outfit in the bathroom despite the fact that you had not even opened yet.

P.P.S. A little sneak peak of the outfit photos included.
