I was so lucky that I got to go to Chicago this past weekend. Xenia (the Spanish exchange student) and her host family invited me to go to Chicago with them as a girls trip, and of course I said yes!! I had an amazing weekend, with lots of fun activities, and I do not regret one bit that I went.
We left Michigan early Friday morning and arrived in Chicago in the afternoon. We checked in the hotel, which was amazing and then we went out for lunch. We went to “Shake Shack” a place famous for their burgers, and they sure did live up to their name. I ordered the Shack burger, regular fries and a chocolate shake and it was money well spent. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking and shopping at the magnificent mile. In the evening, we battled through the 2 hour wait to get on top of the Willis Tower to see the city by night. It was an amazing view, and I would recommend everyone that has the opportunity to go there (regardless of the long wait), to do it! The late evening was spent at the hotel pool and with the famous Chicago style deep dish pizza.
We started the Saturday of with breakfast at the hotel before going out shopping. The weather this day was awful, and I can say that not a single pair of clothing on my body was dry from that day. We had thunderstorms all day, so the day was spent mostly in shops and then running between them. We went out for dinner at Navy Pier at a place called margaritaville, and closed of the evening by the pool.
We started of the Sunday with breakfast at the hotel again before heading to Lincoln Park Zoo. Because of all the rain yesterday, all the animals were inside. We still got to see all of them, and it was cool to watch them. I pretty much slept the hole way home, the weekend was tiring but a lot of fun.
Here are some pictures from my adventure!
