And so it came, the night of nights. Yes, I'm talking about prom!
Sorry for anther post in English, I want to write in Swedish but I still don't have my mac book back..
Ok, so yes prom was on Saturday. Although It's not as big of a deal as it is on other schools on my high school I feel like. I had planned on going with one of my best girl friends of mine for a while, but she cancelled literally like 3 days before prom. I ended up going with a really fun group though! A friend of my host mom did my hear at 1:30 on prom day, we counted and I ended up with over 60 bobby pins in my hair?! Haha, how is that even possible?
Two friends picked me up around 4:45 and we went and took pictures. I think we were a bit late though because a lot of the people I would have liked to take pictures with though had already left.. After pictures we went to a girl in our group house for dinner. After supper we went to the theater at school where if you wanted you could sign up and you could walk out on stage with your date, your friends or alone (yes, someone did that). I did not do it though, I just sat and talked to some people and watched. Some friends who are not yet old enough to go to prom (It's only for juniors and seniors) came by, I talked to them for a while and we took some pictures.
I have been told ever since I first came to Pierre that the actual dance sucks, people always say that koh is the fun dance and that you only really go to prom to say that you went. Although in reality, I really did not think it was that bad. Sure, 60% of everyone had left by the time 30 minutes had passed. But the people that actually stayed for a while had really fun!
We left at like 11. Although it was only me and one couple left from my group by then even. We went to the gas station to get some energy drinks and coffee for those who drink that since it was going to be a looong night. We went to a girls house to change and just chill for an hour and a half or so until we left for post prom.
Post prom was held at the local bowling alley, and almost all juniors and seniors where there, even the ones that did not even go to the dance. There was tons of prizes given out throughout the night (I won a gift card to a local coffee shop and a "tile mate", some people got like tv's and shit). There was also a hypnotist there and that was actually really entertaining to watch! We left at 4 in the morning, when it ended. Me, my group and some other people then went to a girls house to have some french toast and watch a movie. I feel asleep at like 6:30 in her couch watching "Moana".
And that, my friends, was my one and only prom night. Pretty great in my opinion.
