This year the weather gods have somehow decided to skip out on the snow. I'm longing for that wintery nostalgic feeling you get when you open the front door and the cold bites at your nose. Not freezing cold, but cold enough for it to feel like winter. I want to walk in a winter wonderland where in the lane snow is glistening and Jack Frost is nipping at your nose. I hardly think that's too much to ask for. Or am I wrong? We did have a bit of snow the first few days of November but it didn't last very long. Walther and I went for a walk as the first snow fell and walking around with snowflakes all around you is one of the most magical feelings. I'm lucky enough to have a dog who loves playing in the snow. I just wish it would stay for a while longer and have time to settle on the ground. Maybe next year we'll have a magical winter with snowmen and snowfall.

Christmas gift from my sister

There are those few days between Christmas and the New Year where you get to relax and stuff your face full with leftovers from christmas dinner. I believe this lovely mid-week is actually meant for watching christmas films and making the most of what's left of the holidays. And if you're lucky enough and have some money left from christmas shopping, maybe find yourself a bargain on the sales if you happen to be out and about browsing the shelves.

"October extinguished itself in a rush of howling winds and driving rain and November arrived, cold as frozen iron, with hard frosts every morning and icy drafts that bit at exposed hands and faces." - J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

The weather has gone back to feeling very autumnal. And in the hopes of restoring the feeling of it being christmas I've spent most of today curled up underneath a blanket watching christmas films. I have been feeling a bit anxious these past few days so I needed a relaxing day at home without any stress. Tomorrow it's back to work! ♥

The run up to Christmas always seems to last forever and then you blink and it's all over. Does anyone else feel like that? During the countdown leading up to Christmas we spend most of our time wrapping gifts, decorating the house, all whilst trying our best to squeeze in as many festive activities as possible. Once we've stuffed ourselves full of Christmas dinner, the day has come to an end and Christmas is pretty much over.

To me, Christmas has always been about spending time with friends and family, and letting your loved ones know how much they mean to you. One of my favorite Christmas memories is from when I was a kid and we would drive for two hours on Christmas Eve to see our grand parents. I don't actually remember if my sister and I enjoyed the car ride all that much, but what I do remember is that once we had reached their house and climbed out of the car, it felt like the day kept on going for hours and hours and lasted forever. Sadly, my grandpa past away earlier this year, but I'll be giving him some extra love in my thoughts. This year, I had a really nice Christmas with my family and relatives and I got some lovely gifts. Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas.

Merry Christmas!

The number one item on my Christmas wishlist this year is a candle holder. It's the Kubus 4 Black candle holder from By Lassen. I believe it's a Danish design from the 60's, and let me tell you, it's the most beautiful candle holder I've ever laid eyes on! (I'm being very serious). It's on the pricier side but I've been lusting after this for the past year, so I think it's safe to say that your money will be well spent!
