As someone who loves the Autumn and Winter months I find it the perfect time to de-stress and relax. It's important to take some time away from life's many stresses and one of my favorite things to do during the Winter half of the year is to have a cozy night in. I love the fact that staying curled up on the bed all day reading books and watching films counts as a Winter activity. (It does count, right? If not, it should).

As you may or may not know, one of my favorite things to do is to read.
Sometimes, when life catches up with you there's nothing better than losing yourself in a fictional universe and let your worries melt away. I'm currently reading a book by Jenny Eclair called Moving. It's about an elderly woman who lives in a big house in London and one day decides sell her home. Whilst entering rooms she hasn't set foot in for years, packing up her home you get to learn about her past and her family. I'm about half way through the book and so far I'm really enjoying it.

When it comes to ultimate relaxation, there are several things I require. The first being a candle. I find that during the Winter half of the year lighting a candle instantly sets the mood and calms you down. And as I'm not the biggest fan of scented candles I tend to stick to unscented ones. The second thing is to wear something comfortable, in this case preferably pajamas. When I get home from work in the evenings I always change into pajama bottoms and a comfortable jumper. Being comfortable is a must. Which leads me onto the third thing on the list. Skincare. I really enjoy doing my skincare in the evenings, I see it as a nice little wind down from the day. Taking my makeup off is a way of telling myself that the day has come to and end. It's time to just relax and switch off.

What's your favorite way to relax and de-stress? ♥

Whilst scrolling through tumblr the other day I stumbled upon these pictures. I absolutely adore this makeup look. Subtle but at the same time it stands out. As I have not yet seen the film I don't know what character this is, but I'm very excited to watch it! (I think the story takes place in the 1920's and I've always loved 20's inspired things). I also really like the flowers in her hair. Maybe something to wear for Midsummer next year?

As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I'm the sort of person who tends to sweat the small stuff. I've always been an anxious person and I worry about very small and insignificant things, and I need to learn that some things really don't matter.

This year however, I want to avoid stress as much as possible. I want to be more organized and stay ahead of my schedule. I know I would feel a lot more relaxed when I have things filed and sorted, and I know what's coming up. I might even go out and buy myself a new journal to keep on top of everything. (I love a good excuse to buy more journals, even though I most probably have thousands of them tucked away in drawers somewhere).

Sometimes in life it seems like everything is going right for others and wrong for me. It is I usually in those moments that I lose all motivation and want to give up, let the stress take over and not do anything at all. There are so many things about the future that scares me, but there are just as many I'm excited for as well. They might even be the same ones. What I want out of 2016 is for me and my loved ones (and everyone else really) to be happy and healthy and have an amazing year. No worries, no stress and no tears. Is that really too much to ask for?
