Here I am again, back to having a more modern type of diary, back to being another typical young girl with a blog. I think everyone starts a blog thinking "Yeah, but that's not me, my blog is special".
Would it surprise you if I told you that's exactly what I feel about this one?
The reason I felt like I would want to start a blog is not because I'd like show you what I'm wearing today (shocker!) nor am I interested in showing you any beauty tips or showing you what a fake healthy lifestyle I'm living. Quite frankly I just want to write about anything that crosses my mind. Hopefully my readers will find it interesting or worth a couple of minutes of your time, but If not, that's okay too. I'm doing this for me.
Yesterday, some time afternoon, I felt the sudden urge to do something, anything. I thought It would be a great idea to pay money to see a movie with my family and a bunch of strangers, especially now when it's quite a risk to be in public places considering the terror threats in Sweden. Ha,I guess you could say I like to live dangerously like that.
The movie "The Intern" was airing and judging from the trailer that was a perfect movie to watch with Mom, Dad, my brother and his girlfriend.
30 minutes in, and my mind wandered away and I lost focus of the movie. The story reminded me of an idea I have. The movie is about an retired man who lost his wife a while ago, he had retired and had done all the traveling he needed. He was getting bored, he had been working all his life and somehow trained to think that he has to do something to feel alive. So he started working for an internet company.
Now, my idea is a little bit different. I think that's a issue a lot of retired or older people have, but loneliness is quite a common thing for people in my age as well. Maybe it's not even about loneliness, maybe it's the desire of knowledge. Certainly a lot of young people have school and learn what they need in school, but I think that if we took those two and combined them, that we both would have a lot to learn. Obviously I don't think a lot of people would commit to this if it's only about knowledge, cause let's state the obvious here; my generation is a bit lazy. That's why I thought it would be a great idea to have fun activities as well, activities both parties enjoy and have both learn from each other. I would love to somehow help young people put away all their social media and start spending more time being social.
The source of this Idea is one funny story actually.
I was out partying with a friend a couple of months ago, and it was too late for me to feel safe with taking the tram home, so I ordered a cab. For some reason I ALWAYS bond with the cab driver. I love getting to know random people and usually cab drivers are open for debate about anything.
Because of reasons, I don't remember how we started the conversation but we got in to politics and religion and in a 20-minute drive, we told each other our life stories and we had been laughing and at one point we started arguing and went back to laughing again. He told me these amazing stories about his life, what his family has been going through and some issues he's been having with his son.
After a great talk with someone I'll probably never see again, I just had this "Wow"- moment.
If you've seen the movie "Unexpected friendship", thats kind of what I had in mind but not in a job type of way.
So the whole time I was watching the movie with my parents, I was planning and thinking what a great idea this would be. Hopefully this will end up being more than another random idea I have.
(very sorry if you experienced any bad grammar, hopefully you'll be able to go on with your life anyway.)
