So here I am, a week from graduating college, and still jobless. I'm starting to pick up on the fact that getting a job in PR in New York City is practically impossible, so I decided to do something that might make me stand out amongst hundreds of other candidates... and that was to start a food blog. I've always thought about starting a blog, but never felt inspired enough to actually sit down and do it. But here I am folks, finally sitting down and writing my first blog post. I decided to make a food blog after years of following other food bloggers on Instagram and always wishing I did what they do. Then I realized, what's stopping me from doing exactly that? I eat enough food and take enough pictures to do it, so why shouldn't I? That realization and my desperation to be employed is why I am here writing this right now. It is officially day three of having my food blog that I appropriately named Plate Licking Foodie, due to the fact that I find it nearly impossible to eat a meal and not clean the plate. As of 5 minutes ago I had 116 followers. Of course most of them are my friends, but my end goal is to get a wide range of followers who I don't know personally. My true inspirations behind this account are Miss New Foodie and NYC Dining. Both of the girls behind these accounts seem fun and witty, which is exactly how I would want my blog to seem. I'm not sure if I will ever be nearly as successful as they are, but a girl can dream, right? If I do feel like I'm starting to reach a decently sized audience, I plan to start posting my own home cooked meals and recipes on top of the gorgeous food that I buy. Anywho, that is all for now.
