Hey Beautiful!

This morning I woke up and felt like banana bread. So I made one, with a little twist. It has no wheat flour, instead almond meal. The almonds make this bread so dense, nutty and delicious! It fills you up way more and is also healthier. I hope you have fun baking and enjoy your banana bread with a cup of coffee! :)

2. In large bowl mix together almond flour, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and salt.

3. In seperate bowl stir together bananas, eggs and mayple syrup.

4. Add wet mixture to dry mixture and beat for about a minute.

Hey beautiful!

RED. bold colour, makes a statement, grabs attention, love.

I have always loved red lipstick and red roses. Although just lately, have been actually getting into wearing this stunning, bright colour. Its 'the colour of the season' according to my fashionista friend.

I absolutely love red! My small red collection exists of a red silk scarf, a thick winter scarf, a jumper or two and a few tees. My 'red wish list', on the other hand is full off beautiful items! I've always dreamed of a breathtaking long red ball gown, although I have never found a perfect one, yet. This season, I'm also planning on buying a red leather jacket and clutch bag. Above is some of my pinterest inspiration, you might like.

Is it just me or isn't red one of the most beautiful colours ever?! Tell me, have you been wearing it lately? :)

This blogging everyday is getting tiring. But I think its wonderful, that I can sit down everyday, reflect and write down my thoughts. I am glad I am doing this 1-post-a-day thing, to gain experience and know what its like. In the future I am probably going to post just a few times a week. Still all in all I am happy everyday that I started blogging. :)

Today, was a long day. School was a bit tedious, but I feel like this year I am finally starting to learn things, that are useful for life and actually interest me. After school I got coffee with my gorgeous friend Julia and it was great just to chat and relax. Right now I am currently home about to bake a cake for my friends birthday tomorrow.

I just want to leave one of my favourite bible verses here;

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Hello again! It's me Claudia, for the second time this week!

One of my goals for this week, was to write a blog post everyday this week. So 7 blog posts in 7 days, wow thats probably how many I've written altogether haha. SO thats the story. Todays post is October inspired. Since it's the beginning of my favourite month, I thought I'd write this post all about October. I also want to tell you the reason to the name of my blog, since duh its got "October" in it.

The picture above was taken by my sister, last year October in Budapest. It's one of my favourite photos.

October to me is my birthday, autumn, a cup of spiced tea, leaves falling and just cozy blankets, sweaters and good vibes. I am looking forward to gorgeous days ahead.

Octobrebaby - this is my blog name. I came up with it because of a few reasons:

1. I was born in October, what a surprise! Yes, 23. October, 16 years ago, which makes me an Octoberbaby!

2. Then there is also this movie called "October Baby" (so maybe the name wasn't so much made up by me) but anyways I love this movie sooo much. It is based on a true story and is so emotional and touching. It's about a girl who's life is turned around when she learns she is adopted and a survivor of a failed abortion. The movie sounds pretty deep and serious, which it is, but once you've watched it you'll get just how great it is.

3. Last of all; I love french! SO random, I know. But since I learned french in school, and I was always obsessed with french quotes, although I hated actually studying for it, my blog name is french inspired. October is Octobre (with an 're' instead of 're'), in french. I know its not much difference, but its cute to me :)

So yea, thats the "story" behind my blog name. :)

That's all for now. See you tomorrow!

Hey Beautiful!

I hope you are having an amazing weekend.

Last week my friend said something along the lines of : "Claudia, your skin has cleared up so much over the summer. What did you do?" I replied that I just changed my skin care routine, which followed by her asking what I do. So I told her, I'd write a blog post about it. Giulia, this post is especially for you x :)

Just a heads up; I'm not saying I have perfect skin, actually far from that!! I have pimples like any teenager, but they have definitely lessened a lot, compared to the beginning of last year. So take my "routine" as ideas of how to improve your skin. Everyone has different skin, dry, oily, acne prone or not,...this is just what works for me :) Also this routine is great for guys and girls, who have problems with acne/pimples.

I shower at night, so I wash my face in the shower as well. For all the morning shower people, (still think your crazy, why would you want to go to bed dirty?!) just wash your face with warm water over the sink.

In the shower wet your face with warm water and then at end of shower (so your pores are opened) wash face with a daily face wash. I use the foaming face wash from Johnson Johnson, but you can use any you want.

Every third day I use a face scrub / exfoliator instead of the face wash. It is harsher on the skin, but helps get rid of dead skin and blackheads better.

Once I have finished my shower I turn the water to cold and let it fall on my face, to close my pores. (apparently its good for your skin,..I honestly don't know if it really makes a difference, but I read it somewhere so I just do it) Anyways next I pat my face dry with a clean towel. This is important! ALWAYS use a clean towel (not a 3 day old) to dry your face, so that your face stays clean!

Next I use a toner and pour some onto a cotton pad. I just wipe it over my face. "Toners help sweep away impurities, leaving pores clean and less noticeable, and protecting skin."

Whilst I let my skin dry I put some vaseline on my lips. Vaseline is literally the best for dry lips, it moisturises them so well, better than any other expensive product. I swear by this! haha

And if I have any noticeable pimples I will dab a little tee tree oil on them. Tee tree oil dries up pimples and makes them disappear quicker.

Finally I moisturise my skin with my daily moisturiser. This one I like a lot cause it doesn't clog the pores and it great for pimple prone skin.

Every now and then, when I feel like it I use a face mask. I love peel off masks but I also got this charcoal mask from Australia which is great.

In the mornings I just wash my face with warm water and then moisturise and I'm done!

I know my routine sounds really complicated, but its actually not! Here I'll show you the steps with less detail :)

1. Wash face with face soap. Dry with clean towel.

2. Sweep face with cotton pad with toner.

3. Optional: vaseline for lip and tee tree oil for pimples.

4. Moisturise face with daily cream.

1. Wash face with cold water.

2. Moisturise.

How is your skin care routine? I hope you got some ideas from mine :)

singapore beach photos ft. my model sis (instagram: @frxhr)

this chapter feels really good

I read this quote on Pinterest recently and quickly pinned it to my "Words" board, full of inspirational quotes/words I have come across. It made me start thinking about life and that if you see life as a book, it is (obviously) full of different chapters. Some extraordinary, some pleasant and other horrific. But that's okay right, cause that's life, I mean you can't expect a heaven on earth, at least not yet. Thats another whole topic...

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that the chapter I am in right now is a wonderful one. Although I am not relaxing at the beach in Singapore anymore and instead back to my daily, rather ordinary life, I am still having a great time. This chapter has been full of travelling, going to cute cafes with friends, making music and playing sports.

For the chapter ahead I have decided to step out of my comfort zone more and try new things and just generally have a more open mind. Maybe you will see where that leads..

So these pictures above, are just a "paragraph" of a chapter in my life, one of my favourite ones.

How does your chapter feel right now?

I wish you a beautiful night or morning, where ever you are!
