After a endlessly busy day I was inspired to take some photos for an art project of mine - Light and Shadows with a Black and White theme. My little brother agreed to be my model. I think he had lots of fun - I have to add, he was in his PJ's - cute as always.

So here's a look into the beginning of my art project..

Good Morning! New week! Lets make this one a good one!

Today is the beginning of a challenge called the #nouw30daychallenge hosted by the founders of Nouw. Honestly, I am so grateful that they created this website for newish bloggers like me to start off with all the things you need to make your own unique blog.

Exactly 10 months ago I wrote my very first blog post. http://nouw.com/octobrebaby/welcome-to-my-blog-about-me-29490253 and I was so excited to start my lifestyle blog and from then on it has been a rollercoaster. Some weeks I’d write everyday, other times I’d only write once every couple months. Somedays I couldn’t wait to write, other days I had no idea how turn my thoughts into words. All in all I absolutely love blogging and even though life can be busy it always makes me really happy. (as cheesy as that sounds)

Anyway since I feel like I’m lacking proper structure and regularity with my posts this challenge seems like a great way to get into a pattern. So starting today I will be posting once everyday for 30 days straight. I know it will be a lot - but I’m so up for it. I don’t know exactly what to expect from this experience, all I know is that I will definitely learn a ton about blogging on the way!

So join me on this journey, if you want! nouw.com/nouw30daychallenge Oh and by the way, the winner of this challenge wins a once in a lifetime experience to Paris, one of my favourite cities in the world! That would be a dream come true.

I have planned some fun posts such as recipes, fashion and travel posts. Also feel free to leave a comment below with any suggestions!

2017 - what a year!

This past year is filled with so many beautiful memories. It went by so fast! Looking through my camera roll made me remember all the fun times this year.

Travelled to amazing places like Spain, around Austria, Singapore and of course back home to Australia. Made new friends. Tried new foods. Had lots of laughs. Of course there were some lows - but overall it was a truly special year.

Only 16 days into this year and life is busy - schools crazy, I think now I can say "the IB has officially hit me" - thats nothing good, trust me. Never the less I can't wait to experience 2018 to the fullest. Come visit my blog for regular updates :)

New Years Resolutions are nothing new, but every year I find joy in thinking of new ones (or just restarting/retrying my ones from last year......, who else does this?) So this year I got myself a notebook and wrote all of my resolutions down. There must be at least 15 there. I know - as if I can achieve all 15 of them! But I still felt good writing down things I would gradually like to improve in my life from being healthier to being a kinder person.

I wanted to share my top 3 resolutions with you.

RESOLUTION #1

At maybe 12:23 on the 1st of January 2018 we had some family friends over and Carol, the mum of a really good friend of mine told me how when she was 19 she didn't eat chocolate for a year. We decided to do that in 2018. So here I am - Claudia - one of the most chocolate obsessed people on this planet NOt eating CHOCOLATE for a YEAR! (so far I have been chocolate free, and its been great! also chocolate-free means nothing with any cocoa in it such as hot chocolate and chocolate cake)

RESOLUTION #2

My second resolution is something I thought I would never ever do. I am reading the bible in a year. Yes the whole bible -new and old testament. Not only do I think this experience will let me brag about how I've read the WHOLE BIBLE! - but also help me understand the bible more grow as a christian.

RESOLUTION #3

You know those people you are always complaining and grumbly - not cool huh? How cool would it be though, to be those people who are always smiling and thinking on the bright side. That's why my last resolution is to be positive in every situation in life (or at least try my best to) After all just the fact that I am healthy - let alone living shows how great God is and should make me forever joyful. If you haven't smiled today yet, nows a good time :)

Thats all from me for now. Enjoy your week!

ps. What does this New Year mean to you? What are your top 3 resolutions?

Hello Beautiful!

I hope you are enjoying winter and the christmas season. Who else is so excited for christmas already!!

Last week I did a photoshoot with a photographer friend of mine. He is an Austrian photographer based in Uper Austria and so talented at what he does. Go check him out @mr.wjohn_

We did the shoot around Linz and also at the beautiful christmas market.

The shoot was inspired by Brandon Woelfel {probably the most famous photographer on instagram}. Brandon Woelfel uses lots of lights and props to create stunning and unique effect.

So here I just wanted to share some of my favourites from the shoot.

Don`t forget to check out @mr.wjohn_ `s work on instagram!

Have a lovely week

Hello Beautiful x

I feel like this isn't just me, but who else starts a diet and fails after a couple days, or less?!

I said to myself November will be my healthy month, no more chocolate, cake and cookies (sweets are my weakness, not fast food) I kept this "diet" for less than a week, I failed miserably. Again.

So here I am, new week; new start; Monday all healthy, trying really hard not to eat the Buttery Almond Cake my sister made yesterday. (which I ate way too many pieces of yesterday but hey its Monday = I'm healthy again = no cake = sad me)

I know diets always fail, but I still try them over again and again. Maybe on another post I will talk about how "One should have a generally healthy lifestyle and find the right balance between junk and health foods". But I'm sorry, I'm so not there yet. Meanwhile here is me, trying to end my cake/sugar cravings, so I baked a healthy carrot cake. It has no sugar and it even tastes delicious. A friend of mine tried it at school and she said "it tastes even better than a normal carrot cake". Her comment made me smile. So looks like I found a healthy alternative for all the cake lovers out there. You're most welcome :)

Scroll down for the full recipe, and if you found this recipe because you are trying to be healthy, go you! and all the best for you're diet, you got this!!

Healthy Carrot Cake Recipe (no sugar & gluten free)

- 2 cups nut meal (1 almond, 1 hazelnut)

- 3 eggs

- 2 tbsp coconut oil

- 3 tbsp honey

- 1 cup grated carrots

- 1 tsp vanilla

- 1/8 tsp salt

- 1-2 tsp cinnamon

- 1 tsp baking soda

- 1 tsp baking powder

- optional: 1/3 cup raisins or chocolate chips

1. In large bowl mix together dry ingredients.

2. Add wet ingredients and mix well.

3. Add in carrots and optional raisins or chocolate or both!

4. Pour in greased cake tin and bake at 170*C for 40-50 mins, until a tooth pick comes out clean.

5. Enjoy warm with a thin slice of butter and a drizzle of honey

Have fun baking!

Hello Beautiful!

Haven't been writing much lately, just wanted to share another recipe with you today :)

Yesterday I got home and was craving something sweet and chocolatey, but not too unhealthy. So I made up this recipe, inspired by some other bliss ball recipes on Pinterest (always pinterest haha)

These bliss balls are pretty healthy, but also super delicious for people who looove peanut butter and chocolate, just like me!

I happily ate mine whilst drinking a cup of earl grey and vogue, Cravings very much satisfied!!

Oat, Nut & Chocolate Bliss Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

1/4 cup oats flour (you can just pulse oats in a blender to make flour)

3/4 cup cashews (chopped into tiny chunks, or just buy a pack or chopped cashews)

1/4 cup almond meal

1/2 tsp instant coffee bits

1-3 drops vanilla essence (depending how you like it)

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/3-1/2 cup peanut butter

pinch salt

50 g bitter chocolate

  1. Place peanut butter and maple syrup into microwaveable bowl, heat for 1 min and stir.
  2. Mix together all other ingredients and peanut maple mixture in medium sized bowl.
  3. Let cool whilst chopped chocolate into small chunks.
  4. Stir in chocolate and roll into small balls.
  5. Keep in fridge and enjoy with your favourite warm drink!

Tip 1: Use less or more maple syrup depending on how sweet you like it.

Tip 2: You can leave out the instant coffee if you don't like coffee. (i don't get why..;)

Tip 3: If the mixture is too dry, add more peanut butter, if too wet, add more oat flour.

Hope you enjoy making these, they're probably my favourite bliss balls at the moment.

These might be a great snack for Halloween :) Happy Halloween, if you celebrate!

Hey Beautiful!

This morning I woke up and felt like banana bread. So I made one, with a little twist. It has no wheat flour, instead almond meal. The almonds make this bread so dense, nutty and delicious! It fills you up way more and is also healthier. I hope you have fun baking and enjoy your banana bread with a cup of coffee! :)

Simple Paleo Almond Banana Bread Recipe

3 ripe mashed bananas

2 1/2 cups almond meal

2 eggs

1 tbsp baking powder

2 packs vanilla sugar

2 tbsp maple syrup

2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp salt

sliced almonds to top

1. Preheat oven to 175C and grease bread tin.

2. In large bowl mix together almond flour, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and salt.

3. In seperate bowl stir together bananas, eggs and mayple syrup.

4. Add wet mixture to dry mixture and beat for about a minute.

5. Pour mixture into prepared tin and sprinkle with sliced almonds.

6. Bake for 40 mins - 1h, till through and top is golden.

7. Let bread cool for 30 mins and enjoy with butter or mascarpone on top!

Hey beautiful!

RED. bold colour, makes a statement, grabs attention, love.

I have always loved red lipstick and red roses. Although just lately, have been actually getting into wearing this stunning, bright colour. Its 'the colour of the season' according to my fashionista friend.

I absolutely love red! My small red collection exists of a red silk scarf, a thick winter scarf, a jumper or two and a few tees. My 'red wish list', on the other hand is full off beautiful items! I've always dreamed of a breathtaking long red ball gown, although I have never found a perfect one, yet. This season, I'm also planning on buying a red leather jacket and clutch bag. Above is some of my pinterest inspiration, you might like.

Is it just me or isn't red one of the most beautiful colours ever?! Tell me, have you been wearing it lately? :)
