Now when I have been in the USA i can compare my homeland Sweden to the USA.

For example, in America, the food is much cheaper then it is in Sweden and that leads to that many people is overweight in the United states.

Ishockey is a very big sport in both countries. Although, both countries have sports that are very different from each other. For example, in Sweden we play handball while the US play more football. A funny difference is that in America, the people who, for example, work in restaurants is very nice, but most of it’s fake because they are only nice so they get more tip. Although in Sweden, if you are too nice, you don’t get any tip. I think that the holidays is what separates the countries the most. Many of the holidays in the US isn’t celebrated in Sweden and vice versa. For example in Sweden we celebrate Midsummer when we eat and drink and celebrate summer. And in America they celebrate thanksgiving when they are thankful for everything they have. The countries doesn’t celebrate christmas on the same day either. In America they celebrate on the 25’th of December while in Sweden, we celebrate on the 24’th.

Today was soooo fun! We went snorkeling at Molokini snorkeling which is a state marine life and bird conservation and there are so many beautiful animals there! We also went swimming at the Waikiki beach which is Hawaii’s biggest tourist attraction. So of course, it was super crowded… Anyway, I found out something interesting today, Hawaii is actually the birthplace of the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, and the famous actress Nicole Kidman. I also noticed something different, the hawaiian language only have twelve letters in the alphabet which includes five vowels and seven consonants.

This trip has really been amazing and I hope that I will return soon :-)

Bye!

Hawaii became a state in August 1959. That makes Hawaii the youngest state in the US. Hawaii’s culture is a bit different from the rest of the United states. Because of the fact that it is so different they really like to keep it. For example they have their own language which is pretty different from the english language. When they think of Hawaii, many people think of people standing in dresses made of grass, dancing the hula dance with a coconut in their hand and i think that the hula dance and all that also is a part of their special culture. The biggest industry on Hawaii is tourism. Many people travel to Hawaii to enjoy the long beaches and the pleasant climate. They are also the only state that grows coffee.

Tomorrow I’m going snorkeling, I’m so excited!!

Bye.

Today we visited the capital city of Hawaii - Honolulu. It was so beautiful! But really crowded...Many of the buildings where very high so you couldn’t see too much of the ocean but when we went to the beach we saw the water and it was amazing! Then we took the car to see Mauna Kea which actually is the tallest mountain in the world measured from the ocean floor. On the way up we saw some really cool animals, for example we saw the Pacific Golden Plover which is one of the most popular animals of Hawaii. It was really windy at the top, but it was nice because it’s usually really hot in Honolulu.

Bye!
